You were beyond convinced yesterday that this was going to be a no. I think it will be close and would be shocked if the winning side had more than 60%. I will live with the decision either way. Based on your comments below from yesterday, I am curious if you are still as confident (not trying to stir the pot)

Interesting of Nenshi to admit the Yes side is losing right now. I mean it was kind of obvious when they resorted to the desperation of bringing in the guy Hugh Jackman plays in the movie, but still interesting admission

Its a guilty til proven innocent situation for the Yes side. Why would the No side need to spend any money on this?
Its always easier to say No and be pessimistic.

Or, the Yes side literally has millions in private financing and the No side has none. It's always easier to donate when you're going to get something out of it like almost all the donors surely will.

Maybe slightly more confident since the early voting is so strong and the age group that is being reported is the "my taxes!" crowd and they're almost certainly voting no.

Wow, so it's like a 3rd world election. Why even bother having the plebiscite if it is so far tilted towards the Yes side?
For the sake of my taxpaying Calgary friends and family I hope the vote goes No. I'm okay with a Yes vote though since it will give me a good reason to visit with free room and board for the games.

The polling center today was 90% elderly folks (Bowness), based on my scientific observations, landslide for YES as old folks will for sure vote YES.

I mean we're talking plebiscites here, routinely one side has a financial advantage over the other. It would mostly be embarrassing for the Yes side to lose given they had all the advantages. But this is the post-Trump world, "sticking it to the elites" is definitely more and more becoming a real strategy to win, and that doesn't take much money at all.

Think of the Olympic Pin trading game they could bring... Cleaning up with their 88 collections.

The Stampede is a great party too, and we have it every year. At 10 days, almost as long as the Olympics.

I'm not so sure about your confidence that this segment would be a landslide toward Yes. There is a lot of grumpy old farts out there that are already mad enough at the size of this city and what they perceive as inconveniences caused by an influx of people.

Those complaints are usually about urban cowboys and floor pizzas. Not remotely comparable.

Why? Sports fans (i.e. the vast majority of this board) being more on board with a sports project than the general public? More news at 11...

No... the complaints are about the traffic during the work week and trains being full and the cost of entrance.
