I loved that the Flames scored on the power play after that disallowed goal. Last season that would have completely deflated them. This year it just pissed them off. I really hope to see more of that this season.
####. I stayed off all news, turned off all chats, thought that the FLAMES chat where HOCKEY is discussed would be a safe place to avoid spoilers so I could come home and watch it clean. Guess not. Thanks for that.
Sorry, I figured everyone who was really interested would have been keeping track of both.
So glad I was at the game and didn’t have to listen to Randorf the worst voice in hockey.
Won’t repeat what’s been said so will only add:
I thought Backlund looked good.
But maybe it was just me but I thought Hanafin really struggled. Seemed slow and out position and had some bad giveaways, one brutal giveaway in the third that almost resulted in a VCR goal.
As the game went on, I began to feel that this team really has the potential to go somewhere this year.
It was one of the best first games of the season in the Saddledome I have seen for a long time. Usually they don't play this well this early in the season.

Randorf is brutal. I have never liked his voice or style. Keep him on the international tournament or womens hockey and away from the NHL. Would loved to have Rick Ball tonight with Debrusk. Could have been much worse though with Hrudey not available. We could have had Randorf and Cassie Campbell, which is essentially the worst tandem possible.

I feel like the Flames can really build some confidence from this win (most importantly Smith). Im looking to see them build from this and play a full 60 minutes Tuesday in Nashville.
