The parent cam is so frigin stupid. Leave it to a dumb ass company like Rogers/Sportsnet to make it part of the base playbook.

Last year they'd have given up a shortie

I plan to, but it would have been nice to see the premiere match without knowing the result in advance due to some random inconsiderate idiot.

Sorry, I figured everyone who was really interested would have been keeping track of both.

1. Giordano may just win the Norris this year. Absolute beast.

2. Our top line can produce.

3. Derek Ryan does not look good.

4. I’m not a big fan of Smith through the first two games, but when we needed “that” save from him, we got it tonight. The glove save turned the tide.

5. Bennett - Jankowski - Neal. Please give us that!

6. Flames found a way to win - and in a league where any team can win on any night, finding ways to win is a team skill. Huge victory!

So glad I was at the game and didn’t have to listen to Randorf the worst voice in hockey.

Won’t repeat what’s been said so will only add:

I thought Backlund looked good.

But maybe it was just me but I thought Hanafin really struggled. Seemed slow and out position and had some bad giveaways, one brutal giveaway in the third that almost resulted in a VCR goal.

The only MMA you should care about is Mikael, Matthew, and Austin.

As the game went on, I began to feel that this team really has the potential to go somewhere this year.

It was one of the best first games of the season in the Saddledome I have seen for a long time. Usually they don't play this well this early in the season.

Randorf is brutal. I have never liked his voice or style. Keep him on the international tournament or womens hockey and away from the NHL. Would loved to have Rick Ball tonight with Debrusk. Could have been much worse though with Hrudey not available. We could have had Randorf and Cassie Campbell, which is essentially the worst tandem possible.

For people wondering why Prout was playing the 5 on 3...

Gio and Stone were in the penalty box. Your other options were Brodie and Valimaki.

I feel like the Flames can really build some confidence from this win (most importantly Smith). Im looking to see them build from this and play a full 60 minutes Tuesday in Nashville.
