I dont think those are factors. The team is just not consistant and the dome doesnt seem to give the team any confidance or advantages.

Really they lost 4 straight then beat 2 bottom feeders on the road.

I've been watching this team for a decade. I've never seen a worse home team than this one.

Flames should be extra motivated for this game. Do they not realize that this is the team that gets their lottery pick if they don’t make the playoffs?

I don't think they have been that bad as if Rittich or any other NHL goaltender is in net it's likely 1-1. Smith's been really bad.

Flames are the worst shooters in the league. Hit the net. Make the goaltender stop the puck.

Smith clearly does not look ready. Smith at 80% is not better than Rittich.

Get one back before the end of the first, and I still feel good about the game and the playoffs.

Because we need these two points. This isn't a typical mid season game. We are fighting for a playoff spot and Rittich is playing good.

That's what makes it easy to blame the coach. Some say Gulutzan is just a scapegoat but this team is too talented to be this crappy. Activate the D like they did against the Sabres. Why have them playing safe when they have it all to lose. That's coaching.

Damn. Johnny had Monahan floating into the slot and went across to Gio instead (intercepted).

Get one back, go into the intermission down 1. Doesn't matter then if it's 1-0 or 3-2.

I'll repeat my post from before, I'd rather lose this game with no swing point differential against an eastern team playing for jobs and Tavares loyalty and get Smith back up to speed than pull Smith and have him still rusty for the big 4 point swing games.

Honestly, even if the Flames lose this one and the Edmonton game, I've come to terms with it as long as Smith can get back into the swing of things.
