Honestly, I've been here for years and this is the worst I've seen. I don't know what it is but embarrassing is the right word except it is potentially mitigated by the fact that the majority of Flames fans and an even greater majority of hockey fans in general have no idea CP exists, so really we should just be embarrassed about ourselves I suppose.
There are still all sorts of quality contributors here, but the background noise drowns them out.
Everyone who wants to shoot someone into the sun or cheers injuries or is "done" with so-and-so or wants firings can shut the #### up anytime.
We love to rip HF Oil. We should stop throwing stones.
This place is turning into a lame, petty, pointless little corner of the internet.
All the beaters need to take a lap; you all know who you are.

I always love these types of posts. This is a sports thread on the Calgary Flames and people use these forums as outlets to vent their frustration towards the team as well as celebrate achievements when they do well. People have the right to give their opinion on the Flames as long as they abide by the forum rules. If you don’t like what’s being said then argue against it.

Very unfortunate that we pissed away those points tonight. I'm usually a pro Bennett fan, but tonight he really hurt this team with his terrible penalty. He looks frustrated, and is trying anything he can to make a difference. Too bad that difference helps the other team score on the ensuing powerplay.

Fair enough, I just think you shouldn’t expect differently of other sports forums. This is how most are, fans generally overreact to the highs and lows of a season. This is the same with any other sports forum. The way we overreact is why we love sports. Hockey gives us some big highs and some big lows. That is what is reflected in these forums

That may well be, but it seems like it is getting worse here, particularly this season.
Fair point, though. Maybe I am expecting too much.

I get that, I still think this place is still better than other forums. I think most regular posters can agree that they’ve all been guilty for overreacting to a result or game, but I think generally the consensus here is usually not too negative after the recency of the game wears off.

What more does Sam Bennett have to do to spend a month in the press box?

Positives:
Kulak's first NHL goal.
Lazar's first goal this season.
The PP scores (though it took 6 attempts).

He doesn’t need a month but he does need a kick in the butt that can only occur if Treliving gets some capabale depth that forces him to have to fight daily for a spot when he’s struggling like he is now. The Brouwer injury wont accelerate that now either.
Janko had a sit. It didn’t have an immediate effect but he’s a younger guy than Bennett, but Lomberg or Klimchuk or Hrvik or anyone in Stockton, unless they catch serious lightning in a bottle in their limited ice time in games up, isnt going to bump Sam from that spot.
The late summer signing was a red flag for me, though when Jagr was going out of his way helping him along in practice and within the game, and he starting getting into a groove, figured early struggles was a blip. The blip is back though unfortunately.

Rico Fata 2.0. Whatever his skill set, the kid just doesn't seem to think the game at the NHL level.
What does Bennett do that Mangiapane can't? He's got a little extra jam on the physicality front, but Mangiapane shown great chemistry with Janko and Hathaway in the A, and frankly has shown better puck awareness than Bennett in his limited time with the big team.
Bennett needs to step down to line 4, kill penalties, and watch the game. He's an absolute mess right now, the proverbial chicken with his head cut off.
He needs simple orders and a short leash, because he's falling off the cliff. I'm really wondering if the Flames even qualify him at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of the league in 2 years. He's not putting it together.

Disappointing loss, Flames need to win these road games. It is going to get a lot tougher to win soon enough when they are back in Calgary. Hopefully they can win on Sunday.

The problem with Bennett's penalties is that they pure laziness.
It's always because he isn't skating or busting his ass. He takes the lazy way out by holding or hooking or tripping.
That's why his penalties are infuriating. I could accept it if he was getting penalties for being over aggressive, but it's usually just laziness.

Good lord. The 3M line is one of the better 2nd lines in the league.
It was an off night for them on the 2nd night of a back to back.
Step away from the ledge.
