Burrows suspended 10 games for serving as an aggressor and kneeing Hall

Hall should get Burrows forfeited salary for laying that hit. Clean, big, open ice hit to force a turnover. I like Hall now that he's not in Edmonton... Funny how that works.

For Ottawa this isn't bad news at all. They are out of the playoffs....this gives them a chance to take a look at younger players on the 4th line, instead of Burrows. Since they are stuck with Burrows next year too.....the extra rest might even help.

Suspensions only hurt the team if it's a good player. They need to do something like make the Sens play with one less player on the bench for the 10 games. They can switch between one less d or forward each game.

Burrows is such a tool, nice to see a double digit suspension.

I'm still have no idea why Ottawa traded for and extended him in the first place. I guess he provided some useful depth for their playoff run last season however this does not make up for being a massive idiot.

A bit more than I expected them to give him, but the reasoning makes good sense... particularly when they factor in the instigator aspect and the punches to the back of the head, which weren't as clear on the replay I'd watched. So clearly they're suspending him for more than just the knees. The DOPS has gotten better over the years at explaining these decisions, I think.

Also, "we disagree with his interpretation" is a pretty diplomatic way of saying "you're completely full of ####."

In my opinion neither of these should matter. It's about intent, and intent was to injure. Your take on this is one of the worst opinions I've seen on here.

You are surprised the GM that made the terrible trade to acquire Duchene would trade Jonathan Dahlen for Burrows and turn around and extend him for $2.5 million a season? This league has a bad GM problem.

I would have given him at least 20 games.

Considering a lot of what he did was while the refs were holding on to the players, he could have injured them also.

The kneeing was inexcusable. He kneed his head, twice. That's hardly incidental contact.

that was just a dumb comment... not the same thing at all. That said...he deserved at least 10.

Sometimes players do not need to stick up for their teammate and should just keep their pie holes shut!
