7/12 forwards and 4/6 defence tonight were Flames draft picks or overage signing like Gio. Going back cannot think of this much homegrown playing at once in a game. Kudos to Flames scouts and GMs present and past!

I'm willing to give these lines another few games, but if we get to game 20 with the same issues, I'd like to see the lines split up to spread out our high end talent across 3 lines.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Jankowski pots one of his arse tonight!
I was so damn lucky to get to witness Jagr's first as a flame live. That celebration from the crowd afterwards was just magic. Best game I have been to in a while!

Depth scoring! Janko’s first! Jagr’s first! Bennett gets on the scoresheet! Johnny’s on fire! Ferland with the moves! Rasmus and Kulak looking good! Brouwer throwing haymakers! Smith is awesome! The snek rises! Everything else is gravy!
Flames win a fun one!

Best. Post. Ever.

I was watching the jagr goal over and over and it was cool to see jankowski, first round pick (2012 21 overall) make a good defensive play to take the man in his own zone, letting 4th rounder (2012 105 ovr) kulak gain control and make a great pass to gaudreau, another 4th rounder (2011 104 ovr), who sauces a typical beautiful pass to the ageless jagr (Pittsburgh 1990 5th overall) who finishes the play. Also on the ice? Andersson (2015 53rd overall)
A far cry from the days when the flames were among the bottom of the league for number of drafted players on the roster

Detroit fans ripping their team apart for this game effort are pathetic. Detroit played really well, except for Mrazek, who sucked. Shots on goal were high quality shots and Smith really had to stand on his head to keep us in the game.
Watching Jagr getting into his groove after he scored was almost hypnotic. There was that one particular shift where he just owned everyone, like a great white shark swimming in a pool of sardines...
P.S. strykerSteve - awesome!!!

Smith is a beast! So nice to have a goalie that can catch the puck. Full on wrist shots from the slot and he just grabs them no problem 99% of the time.
