Makes some decent points, and some not so decent ones. Just like most of the rest of us.
The delivery is just terrible though. Worse than terrible.

For sure. Nothing wrong with having an opinion and standing firm on it, but talking down to people that disagree is not the way to go. Seems like an alright guy, just needs to knock it down about 10-20%

I don't see how he would develop better in the NHL as a backup vs starting in the AHL. You have some bizarre ideas about goalie development and I'd be surprised if Flames management agrees with you

Actually, it's not. It's also why every single Calgary goalie prospect has failed. It's not how goalies become great.
As a goalie you don't become great by playing against bush league professional players.
That is not what pushes you and gives you the experience it takes to face Crosby, McDavid or a 110mph shot from Weber or Chara.
You get that experience by playing in the NHL. Goalies that go the NCAA route are also very different than CHL goalies. They are playing against 20 year old men instead of 16 and 17 year old kids.
Dominating the AHL doesn't mean jack. If it did Danny Taylor would be our #1 goalie right now. Guy was a beast for the Heat.
The AHL is designed to gain experience playing in a professional setting. You leave a player in the AHL too long as they can lose all ambition to play professional hockey.
Or you end up like Leland Irving. Getting stuck as a backup goalie while the coach was playing an AHL goalie ahead of him.
You want your players in the AHL for the shortest period of time possible.

I would be over the moon with Bishop. He's easily my top choice. Wonder what the Kings would want for his rights?

Won't be knocking anything down.
When I am right. I am right. I am going to say it.
If your living a pipe dream of Calgary going after a backup goalie then I'm going to tell you why it would be stupid to do so.
I can also see Gulutzan being fired before the end of the year. He gets saved by a 10 game winning streak. Outside of Darryl Sutter we've had horrible coaching decisions.

They aren't gifting Calgary the #1 goalie that will prevent them from being in the playoffs for the next 4 or 5 years.

That is not good enough here. You are a nameless, faceless nobody hammering away on a keyboard from obscurity, and if you are going to continue to make these emphatic claims about what you think you know, then you need to prove it.

As are you.
What I am say is perfectly logical and makes sense.
It's ok when Calgary signs Bishop for 6 years and either 40m or 42m you can come back on here and tell me you aren't worthy.

Put him out to pasture. I have no desire to be talked down to like this, and I'm sure no one else here does either.

So there isn't any misconception it was a consensus after discussion among the mods that resulted in action based on everything, not just that one reply to Textcritic (though we do expect people to respect the mods as well).
