I am still firmly on the fence. Lots of $$$ and with unknown resale possibilities for next year have me on pause. Have less than 10 hours to decide though. Has anyone else been contacted about the 1/2 season tickets that I saw on this thread above? I have not been contacted with that as an alternative

I got reminder notices on May 25 and today. No mention of any alternatives. I wonder if they are only open to certain seat locations.
I think the deadline today is only for the early renewal savings and assorted early renewal prizes.
You might want to verify this though.

I inquired about the 1/2 offer on Monday, after seeing taffeyb's post, and was told:
Cost is the same
The Flames pick the games
You get right of first refusal for every second playoff game
You forfeit your relocation rights
You will still get invited to season ticket holder sessions
It's a one-year offer so you are back to full the following season

Good info. Is this the first time they have offered this 1/2 offer? Or is it a normal thing?

I understand it doesn't mean much, but this is the first time I've heard of it myself...

Not as if you wouldn't be watching the Coyotes on a Tuesday night with full seasons. I also doubt they are going to give every weekday non exciting team in the package without a single "fun" game.

My friend did the 1/2 season last year. You get half the good games, so one of Toronto/Montreal, Vancouver/Edmonton, Boston/Pittsburgh, etc. For his 1/2 season, someone else bought the other half. He said the mix of games and nights was pretty even.

They did say they do their best to divide them equally.

My company used to split a box with the flames and they would give us half the good games as well as half the lesser desired ones.

I was stuck on hanging on for a new building but that has dragged on for too long and will probably be too expensive anyway. I'll look at coming back once the kids move out etc.

More the fool I guess, but I ended up renewing tonight after all. Job certainty looks better, my partners were both firmly in, and I'll just sell more games this year. Will also see if anyone in my row with a pair wants to swap games, I'd much rather have 4 tickets to less games than 2 tickets to more.

I got a call from the Flames today because I did not submit my renewal. It was a very short call. I didn't get an offer for a game pack or half season. It actually seemed like the rep was trying to get me off the phone as soon as possible. He did ask me why I wasn't renewing, and I my answer was short. It was basically, "There are a number of factors. Some are personal and along with the cost going up and the value going down it just didn't make sense to renew." He didn't even ask me why I thought the value was going down.
It just seemed like a very abrupt way end to a relationship where they got about $200k from me over time.

I had almost the exact same experience today. The rep was polite, but didn't seem to want to talk in any detail. I'm guessing he had a lot of calls to make...

What were you guys hoping for in that phone call? Just some time to explain why you weren't renewing?

I wasn't really hoping for anything. But if it was me who had just lost a client paying North of $20K per year, I'd probably ask a few more questions and/or make the half season offer available.

Exactly this.
If you are not willing to spend more than 30 seconds to understand why you lost a customer spending more than $20k/year, it seems like a poor business practise. I just looked it up, and I have been a STH since 2006. 11 seasons. I sure don't feel like they valued that much today. Full season, four seats in Red1 price zone.
Here are things that the rep didn't ask/say: - clarifying questions on my reason for leaving
- if I wanted to reduce the number of seats or number of games. In the last few weeks, these are things I was considering.
- if I wanted Hitmen or Roughnecks tickets, even though I have been a STH of them in the past
- my opinion of whether I would consider buying them in the future
- thanked for having been a season ticket holder and Flames supporter for all these years

Also didn't renew. Same reasons as most. Demand is low enough that you can buy most games you want for STH price, and do not need to manage tix for the ones you can't or don't want to attend.
Price increase didn't factor in for me, but knowing that was the case last season, the fact of a price increase from the team suggests they are out of touch with their market. Or maybe willing to roll the dice.
But if something is quite valuable and I am purchasing at a significant discount to list I shouldn't have to work too hard just to break even.
I missed the call from my rep but received a quite pleasant voice mail.

Damn right they should treat you better. That is a serious amount of $. Imagine if you invested $2000 per month for 11 years instead.
