Of course they wont because then you could buy just those and not their noodles.
IIRC bulk food stores sell the cheese powder.

It's not the same. It's awful. My wife would always steal the cheese packets from KD and leave the noodles in the box (she's celiac) so I'd go to make some and be like WTF?!

I always keep a box in the cupboard for a hangover and that is the only time I eat it. NO milk, double butter, eaten out of the pot with the wooden spoon I used to cook it. The dog get's the last 1/4 and of course to lick clean the pot.

Sometimes ketchup, sometimes not. I think it must have something to do with the level of hangover. Can't explain it but I just can feel when ketchup is right.

I think mushrooms would be wicked in KD, but back to the only time I eat it so that just isn't going to happen.

I use spicy nacho cheese sauce instead of butter. It's a damn white trash delicacy.

If that's the case then thank you Satan. Although I don't put it on KD.

I never had KD as a kid. The first time I remember eating it was at a friend's place in my mid-teens, having it for dinner with their family. #### I remember it being disgusting. I think I went hungry that night. I had a few times after that but never acquired a taste for it and havent had it in probably 20 years.

Im not sure if its an acquired taste or that you had to grow up eating it as a kid when you didnt know better how proper mac and cheese was supposed to be. Obviously its popular, especially in Canada. It must have become popular when quick, processed meals were all the rage decades ago.

I think that's the case with most of this type of processed food. Eaten out of context, its quite awful, but if you mix in some childhood nostalgia, it becomes it's own thing.

I'm the same way with something like Nutella. Or Pizza Pops...I know it's not a real calzone, but it takes me back to childhood.

If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner.
(But we would eat Kraft Dinner. Of course we would, we'd just eat more.
And buy really expensive ketchup with it.
That's right, all the fanciest Dijon Ketchup. Mmmmmm.)

This sums up Peters' Drive-In perfectly.

Every time my wife goes out of town for work I eat a pot of KD, right out of the pot on the couch in my underwear with a tall glass of ice cold Diet Pepsi watching Star Wars or LOTR or some great movie she won't watch with me. It is glorious. Usually my dog is beside me, getting fed helpings on to a plate, then we sit there after and let our bellies hang out. Sometimes I pair it with a Delissio.

My fiance thinks its disgusting, but I still enjoy Zoodles now and then because of the nostalgia factor. Parents used to leave it with the babysitters when they went out, and I remember just watching movies and eating that stuff. Of course, my fiance is straight out of Italy, so I have to eat this stuff when she's not around or she'll probably slap me silly lol

It's not Chez Panisse, but that is not true either.

http://www.petersdrivein.com/

  • Fresh, flame-broiled burgers that are never frozen and are made especially for Peters' Drive-In
  • All burgers made from 100% whole Canadian grade "A" ground chuck and they do not contain fillers of any kind
  • Fresh hamburger buns made especially for Peters' Drive-In using old-fashioned slow-rising sponge dough
  • Fries and onion rings cooked in premium, cholesterol free, trans-fat free, 100% pure canola oil
  • Milkshakes made with real ice cream and real fruit
I believe the fries are cut fresh for every order? Not frozen. Not sitting in a pail of water all day.

Why don't you just save time and cover the top of the Delissio in a layer of freshly made KD. Then roll it up into a taco and enjoy.
