Maybe I just like longer seasons and the journey rather than a quick tournament where games are great from the quarters onward (thats 7 games every 4 years!)

I consider the development of each countries players over the course of four years to be part of the build up of the Olympics. It's really exciting to see how the landscape of a team changes over that period.

The window to be a star on an Olympic team is so small due to the separation. A player can go from a young guy who gets cut to a prime star player to a grizzled vet left off the roster in favour of a young guy over the course of just three Olympic games.

Everything about the Olympics is awesome and it would be a real shame if it was gone.
