I hear you.. watching flames games in st. john's sucks. Games start so late and you never get to see them on tv. I tried paying for game center too and I still had to find alternate streams. It should be so much easier to watch flames games outside of alberta.

Monahan

Obviously, Tkachuk and Bennett had a couple of key mistakes taking offensive zone penalties, but the rest of their play in that period was pretty good. I can forgive the mistakes from trying too hard. The team needs to have their back on those and find a way to kill the penalty.

Monahan was a key part of the Hamilton goal. Gaudreau was not passing well.

Just a theory but the Flames were juggernauts at home last year and things often went well for them on dome ice. I think they've been playing with the expectation that pucks will continue to go in for them like they did last season, and maybe that combined with the pressure of doing well for the fans is causing them to get away from the x and o's of the game that made them successful on the road trip.

They've been much more resilient on the road whereas there's no denying that those goals threw them off their game plan and back to forcing plays. Need to just press reset for the final 40 and exercise a bit more discipline. Tkachuk's penalty was definitely a rookie mistake. He knew what he did right away. Those penalties are avoidable.

Monahan has been mediocre. He can be so much better. His line had a tough time getting in the offensive zone, and he created nearly nothing offensively until that last minute of the period.

If this keeps going past the 15 game mark, it might be time to split up Gaudreau and Monahan. It doesn't seem to be working right now.

Maybe throw Brouwer up with them. He seems to elevate who he plays with a bit.
