Why sit Tkachuk when he's been one of he most effective and hard working players?
Gaudreau - Monahan - Versteeg
Tkachuk - Bennett - Brouwer
Ferland - Backlund - Frolik
Stajan - Hamilton - Chiasson

Giordano - Brodie
Jokipakka - Hamilton
Kulak - Engelland

Because you need to get other lines going. Gaudreau and Monahan may not need Frolik but so far this season they've been ineffective at getting going. With the limited options available on the wing there isn't another viable option with out sacrificing balance on the other lines. And Backlund-Frolik will get lots of time on the PK together. Especially since we lead the league in the number of times shorthanded.

Benching Tkachuk is far from the answer. But is not a surprise for a rookie coach that is failing hard to just shift the blame.

I think Tkachuk sitting is not a "benching". I think it's a learning opportunitie that let's him stay longer without using up one of his 9 games..

I appreciate the decision as an 18 year old shouldn't be a must include for a win.

I think watching for a game may actually be good for his development.

And player development matters even more than winning.

The Flames top players have to be miles better for this to be a competitive match.

That has been the biggest problem. The flames best players have been among their worst players.

I'm sorry but what?
I understand you don't like the new coach. I'm undecided on him as I've watched very little of the Flames early in the season.
But do you really think he is trying to "shift the blame".

Scratching young players to give the a fresh POV is pretty standard. Not an effort to "shift blame".

Yes, the CBC does continue to do live streaming, but, the streams are from games it is showing on the CBC channel and that is the Canucks-Kings game this evening.
