Throwing MLB under the bus is probably not the route Rogers wants to take, sometimes it's better to take one on the chin.

Is MLB Network even available on any of the providers in Canada?

If it's exclusive to MLB Network, why is it on RDS though?

Viewers in the USA are very angry especially in the state of Illinois.
"MTCO Communications, which serves a large swatch of Central Illinois, also does not carry the MLB Network and will not have access to the game."

So you need to blame your provider for not carrying the channel, not Rogers.

Even if someone in Calgary carried MLB Network, it's a subscription service. This is lunacy by MLB (if true). You should be able to watch the NLDS without a subscription service if you have a friggin sports package.

It's a business plan to expand the reach of the MLB network. It's pretty easy to understand.

It's an incredibly stupid business plan if that's the case. The game was on FS1 across the US I think, and there's not a single Canadian who is going to out and buy MLB Network to watch one playoff game. People buy MLB Network to follow an out of market tram throughout the year, not for one playoff game. All they are doing is pissing people off.

It was on MLB Network in the US not FS1.
MLB network bought the rights for US tv and it's providers. They don't care about us.

Same point though. What's the point of doing it for one game? No one is going
To buy a subscription for one game.

You do it for the entire series or the entire out of market playoffs or you don't do it at all. Just completely foolish to piss your fan base off for one game on Saturday friggen night on a holiday weekend (US and Canada).

you get what you can get i guess. im sure all the contracts are locked in and maybe MLB Network could only strike a deal to show one game. Reward existing subscriptions. Get foot in the door could lead to more playoffs games in the future and more subscriptions.
US American tv is weird, some people have MLB Network, some have FS1, some have TBS. It's all splintered.

I can understand their decision making, from a pure marketing perspective of trying to grow MLB Network and MLB TV subscriptions, it's still dumb.
MLB TV is so worth it for anyone who doesn't subscribe, especially if you're a fan of any team other than the Jays who doesn't get lots of broadcast games here in Canada. It eliminates any of those summer evening issues of not having something to watch.

The NFL Network really wants a playoff game but can't get in the door. So crappy Thursday night games will have to do.
Meanwhile Sportsnet getting trashed this morning for not showing Ukraine like they're supposed to.

Great start to the MLB playoffs this year.
Jays up 2-0
Red Sox down 0-2
Giants down 0-2
Hopefully those all go to 3-0
