I can't believe they had Frank Gehry redesign the trophy and he still made it look like that.

For me, I think it's because "Team Canada" isn't just the hockey team. They're part of a larger team centered around athletes playing for national pride. This was great hockey to watch no doubt, as a fan of the game, I enjoyed it. As a Canadian, I didn't really care if Canada won though.

Barf. Enough of Sid and McDick always getting the notoriety. Give it to someone else and make it interesting for a damn change.

Well, sayonara WCoH. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and if you, reading this post, enjoyed this tournament, great.
But IMO, this was the most boring and contrived tournament in the history of tournaments. I hope never to see another one again. Viva l'Olympiques!

Yeah, could have easily been Marchand, Toews or Price.

With injuries and off years, I would disagree. There were times over the last 8 years where Sid wasn't really at the top of the ladder.
Now that he's healthy, and he's shown he is more than just points, there is no doubt he is the pinnacle of the sport over the last 2 years.

The only players who have ever had a claim as better than Sid have been Price / Lundqvist and they don't play skater positions.

Who was better than Crosby? Whether he deserved the Conn Smythe or not is debatable, but he dominated this whole tournament.

While this tournament was no Olympics or true validation of our supremacy (not that that's in question) I can't fathom how anyone wouldn't want a team wearing Canadian jerseys to win.

2002 and 2010, yes. But for anyone who says they had more fun watching Sochi than this tournament...I'm hesitant to agree.
The feel good story of the Europeans, and the unbridled excitement of the North American team alone make it more fun to watch than 2014.

You obviously didn't watch all the games. Crosby was the engine for this team.
Unreal tournament and absolutely deserving of the MVP.

It was fun getting up at 3AM to watch Canada utterly dominate Sweden. That alone made that tournament better than this cash grab.

Clearly the best skater of the period is Crosby. There also definitely been some points along the way where he hasn't been.
