Goaltending seems to be one position where a change in the specialty coach can make a difference (Dubnyk). Maybe McDonald needs a change in approach/technique.

Yeah I noticed the highlights the Oilers posted showed no Flames goals.

There's being a homeristic, and then there's not even doing the decency of posting all the highlights from a game. Have to advertise the first Oiler exhibition in Rogers Place as a 4-0 slam dunk when it was actually 4-2.

It's okay. We'll give them a good highlight package on opening night.

Cam Talbot - 2 games
Al Montoya - 2 games

Michal Neuvirth - 13 games

Lots of successful backups and a few successful starters spent some time down there.

The ECHL season is 72 games, so I'd say the majority of these guys played one season or less down there. It's not the end of the world if MacDonald goes to the ECHL, but he'd have to really prove himself and beat out Rittich (or whoever the AHL backup is) this year or next to follow the same track as the above guys.

But who knows. He's still young.

From what I've seen, he's a big goalie, but slow and plays deep. Mediocre puck tracking. The only goalie I've seen excel with those attributes is Corey Crawford.

They don't force you to drink so don't understand why people complain about beer prices. Stop by the liquor store on your way home and drink at home for much cheaper.

And besides, if beer was $3, you'd have a bunch of drunks having way too many and driving home.

I thought it was a neat juxtaposition.
