That's true. Defense and goaltending abysmally bad.

That first month was really hard to watch.

That first goal was on Bennett who did a fly-by on the puck and tried to make a fancy play around Getzlaf. Everyone is anticipating the puck getting out so are leaving the zone. Getzlaf holds it in his skate and Perry is the only one left because everyone else is anticipating the puck getting out there.

No, Bennett is the forward trying to get the puck out and the two defensemen rush forward leaving the opposition's Hart trophy most dangerous forward all alone in front of the goalie. Why do they both need to rush forward leaving Perry enough time to eat supper and wash the dishes before scoring?

The first two months of the season were the worst two months of play in the history of this organization when you consider how bad the goaltending and team play was. They were every bit as bad as the Oilers were at their worst of their many no good seasons. They got that out of their system and Ramo started playing better but consistency is a big problem as after that home winning streak the bad habits crept back into their games. Recently they have been okay considering all the AHL callus but it's still an issue as they had a good game against the Coyotes but then revert to their bad habits last night for instance and the culprits last night weren't kids as Brodie, Giordano, Hamiltion (still a kid but we expect better) were pretty shoddy in their own end.

I said it before - as Flames fans, we have been extremely fortunate to watch this team go through a rebuild yet not have to stomach a team that is terrible to watch and root for.

This season is by far the worst since the rebuild, but even then there are at least some bright spots and things to actually enjoy. Rebuilds are tough on everyone - including fans. We (imo) have been relatively spoiled when I compare the Flames to other teams that have undergone rebuilds (and I don't even have to look at the disgrace that is the Oilers - I mean REAL NHL teams that have entered rebuilds).

Because that is how the team has played for three years? Defense joining the rush. Bennett has to make a better play to get the puck out there.

You can say the system is sucks, but that's how they play.

I don't think Hartley would ask both defensemen to blow the zone before the puck is out.

I agree, but part of that was the destruction of the hope for a good season. By game 15 the season was over and it was far more devastating than an 8-3 blowout with 7 rookies on the roster

Ok I know this has been beaten to death in here. But I missed the game last night and just watched the highlights.

That was the worst display of goaltending that I have ever seen in my life. Ever. Just wow. A whole other level of terrible.
