Second week in a row that BC's game has been delayed because of a long Providence game. At this rate, BC probably doesn't start until after 9:00pm EDT.

Why would we have to burn a year. I hate that that's becoming a norm. It should be the exception.

very little impact anyway
burning the year means a 2nd contract a year earlier, which usually means less money for that deal
and it has no impact on UFA status (doesn't get them a year closer)
edit: and for 21 year olds it makes no difference because if they waited until the next year (22) they would get a 2 year ELC anyway

He's 21, turns 22 in september.
If he were a Major Junior prospect he would be going into year three (and final) of his ELC next year and finishing up his second year pro.
Burning a year puts him into the final year of his ELC next year. However unlike a Junior prospect burning an ELC year has no effect on his waiver eligibility.

because in reality that is the only thing that teams can offer their college players that no other team can offer. That is the reality of the ELC system.

That's it.
Now, the Jankowski and Gilmour signing watch can begin.

And of course he's basing all that on one game, where he's injured.
Don't even post it here sureLoss, it's useless, he's useless. I can't believe Freeway responded with "interesting" and not calling him out.
"coaches don't trust him in high-leverage situations"
The exact opposite has been true for the last two seasons. Leaman has leaned on Jankowski heavily in important situations except for you know, when he's injured like tonight.

Hopefully Jankowski was just ill or something, something small so he can sign and play.

I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that has seen enough providence games to know that Jankowski was off for the whole game. He had no jump and appeared to be labouring from the get go.
Lambert is so uninformed.

It just seems like it's happening all the time now. Whereas in the past it never seemed to be a thing. I could be way off on that though
