I'd like to see the Flames entire organization do it. It's serious BS. Makes the game look cheap and rigged.

The game misconduct is automatic for instigating if you wear a visor I believe.
The problem is the instigator. Burns jumped him!

Hathaway gets a game? Gross.
Bennett, Gaudreau, Monahan, hot to watch.

Misconduct for...standing up for himself after being on a receiving end of two cheap shots.

If you want to give Hathaway an instigator to offset the Burns cheap turn away from puck and shoulder Hathaway so be it. To call an instigator and ignore that illegal hit is laughable.

Is it because one guy has a visor and the other doesn't?

Well that explains it then. I didn't even think of that.

No, that's not true.
Many guys have fought with a visor on and not called for instigating and a game misconduct.

The instigator is confusing enough. Not allowed to retaliate after getting high sticked then hit after a whistle

Hathaway's game misconduct was changed on NHL.com to just "misconduct"
whatever that means

I generally don't go in for "the refs have it out for the Flames", but this is pretty ridiculous. They have obviously decided to turn the screws since the Wideman thing.
That was a five minute high stick for Burns, and a minor for roughing all before the fracas starts.

Hathaway got 10, not a game.
10 is automatic for instigating with a visor.
I remember Bourque got it at home vs Washington defending Langkow and we had a 7 minute PK I believe as well.
Iggy got it a couple times too. 2 + 5 + 10.

Sounds like Hathaway was having a hell of of a game.

Don't know if that's still a thing. Think that odd rule was tossed out when they decided to grandfather in mandatory visors.

That's a weird rule if you consider he has no choice on wearing the visor
