Yeah, I thought they were fine on Hamilton, other than Ferraro. But they were wrong with respect to the PP.
Anyone who has been watching the Flames knows that Hamilton was an immediate improvement on the PP over Wideman. And IMO, he has been the best defenseman for them on the PP this year.

I think Nichushkin has more trade value than Drouin. He isn't demanding a trade.
No way they'd move him for two 2nds.

Yeah, and our PP numbers are down because of this.
There is no way Dennis Wideman should have been on the PP for as long as he was. He did nothing to earn those minutes. If Hamilton were getting those minutes the moment Wideman stopped deserving them, the narrative on Hamilton's point total would be much different.

He was a pretty good player back in the day though I think. Almost 900 points.
I actually like Ferraro. Mike Johnson and him are the two best colour guys IMO.

Explain to me how they are correct again?

Hamilton has 26 points. Many expected more. Like Ferraro said, not a 60p guy like some thought he would be.
Hardly a "ripping".

Is it just me, or is this not very exciting and quite boring? Aren't there typically more trades by now, or am I crazy and forgetful?

One can dream with a top six like this right?
Gaudreau - Mony - Nichushkin/Laine/Puljujarvi
Shinkaruk/Agostino - Bennett - Nichushkin/Laine/Puljujarvi
|
Do get a game-changing forward, you need to give up a game changing piece yourself. Is Rusell a game changer?
I am a fan of Russell, unlike most on CP, but he's no game changer. (I suppose except for when he scored in the playoffs vs the Canucks and had an OT winner this year haha)

Good thing I didn't stay home today, this deadline awful. That said, all the big deals already happened, so there's not much to look forward to anyways.

I find the the trade deadline doesn't usually pick up till 10:30 mountain time. That's been the case the last couple years at least

Yay! Am I the only one on this board who actually wants us to keep him? Because I will happily believe in isolation if so.

If he gets traded that will be two of our "first line RW" that we traded within a couple of days of each other.

He's 22. He may yet be a 60 point D man, in fact it's probably quite likely to be honest, with his skill set.
Unless people were expecting that this year?
If so, that's crazy talk.

I think it will start to heat up within the hour. This is about average, maybe a little below, for the past few years IMO. A lot of trades happen in the last hour.

This happens and these posts come up every year. Sounds like Russel and Hamhuis will be the dam breakers this year

That's just setting yourself up for disappointment. Not that Nichushkin is on Bennett's level, but he's definitely worth more than two 2nd round picks.
