I don't know... possibly Police are concerned that is exactly what the terrorists want and want to draw police in to maximize casualties?

We have had reports of one suicide bomber and grenades, so these guys have explosives.

Lets hope the police are doing what they feel is best.

Storming in haphazardly can be just as dangerous. Look at what happened in the Moscow theatre hostage situation.

Syrian refugees are not going to be violent. If they had any violence in them they would be able to defeat ISIS who they badlyout number. They are scared, desperate, weak people who simply just need help

Unconfirmed reports of Bataclan being breached by special police forces (GIGN).

EDIT: Gunshots reported heard from outside.

Color me a bit paranoid but how hard would it be to grab an executed persons phone off of the floor and send out that desperate tweet for police? Only to have them wait to set off a big explosion and take out a bunch of cops with them?

Either way, get in there and at least try to save a couple of lives.

As a society we can not worry about what might come to pass 2-3 generations away. We have a duty to humankind to provide assistance now when it is needed

If we don't were no better than the terrorists they are trying to run from

Curfew declared in France (and looks like all French territory).

So from reading that thread on reddit supposedly some of the the the gunman were shouting "this is for Syria", I am unsure if true what the end goal would be as France only started airstrikes in Syria in Sept. And really if in retaliation for that the only thing that would come of it is just going to be harder for Syrian migrants as they are all going to be seen as terrorists (unfairly of course). I never really can wrap my head around what a terrorists end goal is sometimes, besides death and destruction.

This is absolute insanity. I cannot imagine being in Paris right now, or the feeling of those being held hostage in the theater.

It makes me sick to my stomach.

Horrible.

What a surreal and horrific situation. Can only hope that the remaining danger subsides quickly.

Still watching France24. Some people have managed to get out and are speaking to radio. Sounds like... well, like what was described above. Absolute carnage.

As for assailants - 2-3 people, not wearing face masks, enter theatre and fire on crowd using AK-47s. Gunfire took place over 15 minutes and multiple reloads of the rifles.

That's suitably naive. The solution is more tolerance and bigger welfare cheques. That's the left answer for everything. It has worked well to this point.
