Still shaking my head over the Colborne whiff. Then he does a geeat job mucking behind the net. Dunno what to make of the guy, and he's been around for awhile.

Methot would have a good career in broadcasting when hockey is over.

good road period , Brodie looking good. Need some offense and need to bury chances. Keep the game simplified . loose the pretty passing.

I honestly think the new combinations on the top two lines make for a better attack for now. Gaudreau and Bennett had some nice plays (please shoot more), and Colborne did a great job diggin the puck out for Monahan and Hudler.

Brodie with no PP time, likely means his hand isn't at 100%

Team definitely looks more confident with Brodie back, I am just not a fan of dressing a player not 100% regardless of team needs. especially when it's an injury to an essential body part like a hand.

Really glad that Galley is still using the "soft dump in the corner" line.
Tonight: "Sometimes, all you need is just a soft dump in the corner". I don't care, it makes me laugh every time.

I thought it was a really good period. Keep that up and they should have a W here.

The Flames look better and to be honest I'm a little surprised how effective Brodie has been so far. Saw a couple instances where because of his skating ability and ability to handle the puck, he backed off Ottawa's D.
I was a little skeptical about him being THAT important to the team's play but so far at least, he does seem to be an integral component.

One of the best periods of the year.
Only time we almost got caught was that stupid icing by Hudler.
Colborne with 2 open nets in the last 2 games which he has missed.
I forgot how much I missed watching Brodie under pressure in his own zone!!

He's getting progressively better along the boards but his hands are still hit and miss. Also an instance on the PP where he tried to enter the zone but instead put the Flames offside. I don't think he has great hockey sense but if he continues to improve along the boards he should be able to be a good bottom 6 guy and sub in on the top 6 occasionally for a different look.
Someone mentioned in another post that most teams have "marginal" guys on their Top 6 that get paired with "real" Top 6 guys which I agree with. Colborne is one of those marginal guys.

Why wasnt that a icing?
Why didnt Hartley challenge the sens over the glass? You would think each team has hired a review guy.
