They had the puck a lot, but the Flames looked mostly like they were in control of their defensive zone. Not a lot of panic plays, and lots of stick where they needed to be. Hiller had the first shot and everyone else had their men.
They need to translate it into more offense, but I was very comfortable watching that period.

Solid period. Looked shaky in parts but ill take a 1-0 lead in MSG with no complaints.

This is a tad concerning, but at the same time this team has many wrinkles it needs to iron out.
Once the kinks are dealt with, Hartley will feel more comfortable throwing Bennett into different situations I am sure of it. At this point in time though, if I were a pro coach, how do you not double shift that first line? Johnny is dynamite and Monahan is Toews 2.0.
Again, once things settle down a bit for the Flames and they get to .500 or so, Bennett will see some more ice. He certainly isn't playing bad thus far.

Lucky to be up 1-0. Gotta play better next period. This team has zero forecheck, have they just abandoned the concept? Flames looked really slow too.

On this topic does anyone know what happened to Byron in Montreal? Haven't heard anything.

The Flames need to create possession in the offensive zone outside the 1st line.

Habs are on a 9 game winning streak and haven't had any injuries. Byron just hasn't drawn in.

PK has been pretty terrible this season and letting the Rangers have the puck so much is forcing them onto the PK more than they want to be

I wish everyone was less concerned about Bennett's ice time and more concerned with winning this game. Last time I checked we were still near the basement.

Two of those were weak. The team played excellent on the PK as well. Now only if the PP can as good....

I saw Bennett for a couple of minutes , but did Grant even touch the ice in that period? Sends a pretty big message to Raymond in the pressbox. Hartely rather play a man down than even have Raymond on the bench.lol

more like 4. Hartley never plays 4th line in the 3rd periodseason.

Bennett being played 1 minute sure isn't the way to help create secondary scoring.
Frolik - Bennett - Jones
I'd love to see that line...but with how Bob is handling Bennett, I doubt we'll see much more of Bennett this season.
We won't get secondary scoring until Bob begins trusting Bennett. A Backlund led line can't generate offense, but they're solid defensively.

The Rangers had multiple good chances on the PK and didn't score on the first only because Hayes couldn't put a pick in a totally open net. They've had great chance after great chance on the PP.
The calls were weak, but when your always chasing the guy with the puck, you're gonna get calls against
