I need help identifying a sweet song that was on x92.9 often earlier in the year.

It has a very blues/rock vibe, mostly a single guitar and blues style singer. It has a bit of Jeff Beckley style to it if that helps. This ring a bell for anyone?

What's with this annoying 2015-2016 trend of the singer/songwriter types having to talk about "Chilling with you and smoking weed" in every song. I feel like if you listen to a chill acoustic song there's a 90% chance they mention smoking weed or getting high.

2016 has been great for punk/folk so far:
-Brian Fallon's solo record was great
-blink-182 rose from the dead
-Against Me! puts out a killer record
-Chris Farren's solo album is pretty good
-The Falcon puts our their first album in 10 years
-PUP puts out a great Canadian album
-Green Day puts out their first not terrible song in ages
-The Menzingers new song Lookers is awesome
-Flogging Molly puts out a new track and hopefully album soon
-Dropkick Murphys and Dave Hause are in the studio writing their new albums
-Not folk or punk but Tegan and Sara's new album is pretty awesome too

I have been listening to the new Menzingers song a lot lately. Such a catchy chorus.

Shalalala Jersey girls are always total heart breakers

Also, I just heard the new Bon Iver song and was kind of disappointed. I understand the need for a band to grow and expand their sound but am not really digging the move from indie folk to folktronica.

As well The Bouncing Souls finally have a new one. It's pretty decent.

I'm still trying to process the new Bon Iver stuff out there but he performed 8 (circle) on Fallon last night and it is simply magnificent. Gorgeous, delicate raucous....ugh.

Frank Ocean's album is also amazing. What was turning out to be a dud year just went from 0 - 1000.


It's amazing that I think the three most progressive artists out right now (Ocean, Vernon, West) are all focused on vocal manipulation. Just adds so many layers.

Frank Ocean's album is also amazing. What was turning out to be a dud year just went from 0 - 1000.

I listened to a recording of Bon Iver playing the new album live....and yeah, it's amazing. Can't wait to listen to a high quality version.

Also agree on Frank Ocean, fantastic album.
