Hope you are right. Just seems he needs to slow the game down to finish. He makes things happen but rushes the chance.

I liked what I saw from Bruce. What's the story on him, back to junior? He definitely needs work but I liked what I saw.

After watching Carroll I really want him to make the Flames in 2 or 3 seasons, lots to like there. Is he AHL bound?

Fun tournament but nothing to get worked up about. Since guys upped their stock but I didn't see too many drop.

Bruce will definitely be going back to junior. I suspect he'll be in the first round of cuts. He just turned 18 in July, so he's still very young. He needs to add some bulk to that beanpole body of his.

Carroll will be going pro, either ECHL or AHL. He should start in Stockton.

Most shocking thing for me after watching this game was the pronounciation of Kylington.

Happy to see Klimchuk score (and not just an EN goal). He probably won't be a real flashy prospect in terms of high end skill but if he can combine above average skating with good hockey sense and a great shot he could be a keeper.

It's fun watching a glimpse of what the future may hold... even better considering two of our better prospects aren't even here (Jankowski and Hickey)...

Seems like everybody seems to agree that Mangiapane was fantastic. I know its only rookie camp, but if he carries this through to pre-season and into pro? Mangiapane might be that other top line LWer to fill in. I'm dreaming of something like :

Mangiapane - Bennett - Poirer
Gaudreau - Monahan - ?Klimchuk?
Ferland / Bouma - Jankowski - ?Frolik?

Dang that could be a pretty sweet top 9. Mangiapane was a little buzz saw all over the creating waives. Just like Bennett. And Poirer. That could be a line that plays against McDavid every night for the next 10 years. /dreaming

Mangiapane over Gaudreau on the top line. That is dreaming. Reasonable expectations for Mangiapane would be for him to become a Byron type player. I think he'll have a hard time producing points at the NHL level.

It's as crazy as Brandon Saad over Patrick Kane on the top line.

My idea runs from a somewhat older idea that you keep 2 pairs together and rotate the 3rd on a line to "mix things up" if a player is in a slump. The 2 obvious tandoms I see are Bennett-Poirer and Gaudreau-Monahan.

It would be pretty slick if Bennett-Poirer took on the tough matchups and other teams top D, leaving Gaudreau-Monahan to face softer minutes.

Gaudreau and Monahan on the second line would be the best second line in the NHL.
