He didn't specify the league...Sven may score more points in the AHL then a Flame does in the NHL

The guy saw the reality that there was a slim chance he would be a regular roster player in the Flames organization so he asked to be traded. He now has a one-way contract with another team and the Flames got a good pick. He's a good guy and that was the best possible outcome for him and the Flames, what's the big deal?

Yeah, I seriously doubt that. There were two players in the AHL who scored +70 points last season. It is a notoriously low scoring league, and for a streaky, slightly above average player like Baertschi, hitting 50 in a full season in the A will be a challenge (He has yet to hit the 30-point-mark in three years of professional experience). The top scorer in Utica had 61 pts. last season.

Haha, that was so textcritic.

"Why did the chicken cross the road?"

"Well, first of all the idea that a chicken needed to cross the road in the fist place is preposterous as back in 1925 the first........

.....and that brings us to why chicken road crossings dipped below standard international rates after 1941 due to..........

.........now if this chicken was in fact crossing multiple borders within the same day then the whole calculation changes and I guess opens up the possibility of this particular chicken crossing the road, but I digress, the reason may very well have been to in fact get to the other side".

Couldn't agree more ... it doesn't take a lot of searching to see the Baertschi vs Hartley debates over and over and over again before the end of the season.

I personally lost it every time I saw the Baertschi crowd making excuses for a guy that simply wasn't getting it done.

I wanted the guy to succeed, but he had to learn how to play a 200 foot game, and blaming the coach for not overlooking his short comings was ludicrous.

I caught some talk to on tv about the Canucks. Sounds like Baertschi's start to the regular season hasn't been so good.

Canucks fans have been saying exactly the same thing Flames fans said about his game.

Inconsistent, weak along the boards and is a play killer. Then he comes around and makes a beautiful pass giving you a little bit of hope.

They are calling for him to get off the top-6 because he's apparently the reason Horvat isn't lighting it up (which might even be true).

Game 1: 14:45
Game 2: 13:38
Game 3: 11:07
Game 4: 9:09

Coaching staff in Vancouver appears to agree that Baertschi isn't getting it done. Outside of the 4 point effort against the Oilers (which was largely due to strong play from Virtanen/Horvat) he wasn't very good in preseason either.

Kid needs to figure it out or else he will be ending up on waivers in the next couple weeks.

ya, he really looks out of place in real NHL games. Maybe the nucks will give us a second rounder just to take him off their hands!
