How the heck did SureLoss announced this signing like 10-15 minutes ahead of TSN? TSN just mentioned it before their commercial break.

Treliving crashes the internet twice in the same week. Outstanding news

This is amazing! Frolik is the guy we all wanted and we got him. What an off season it has been!

Considering Hudler will most likely not be a Flame next season, this gives the Flames a solid RWer that can play on the top two lines.

They were discussing the Kessel trade.

Its a good signing. Sure 4 years would have been better than 5, but i think the money is going to be very good going forward. I believe Frolik could be a steady 20-25 goal scorer while taking busineess in his own end.

That's a stellar AAV. Treliving is really putting in the work to get this team right.
Stats nerds are going to cut the Flames some slack now with big time possession drivers in Hamilton and Frolik on the team now.

We've now got 16 forwards (counting Bouma, Ferland, Jooris, Shore and Byron who are all still RFA) 8 Defensemen (counting TSpoon and Smid) and 3 Goalies.

Something may have to give

They seem to be the only ones surprised by the numbers. I was actually surprised to see their response. His asking price has been out there for well over a week. That's a panel that hasn't been paying attention IMO

  • Ramo $3.8M
Need to re-sign: Colborne, Monahan, Gaudreau, Granlund, Giordano, Russell

Summer of 2017 = $9.65M off the books
  • Raymond $3.15M
  • Bollig $1.25M
  • Wideman $5.25M
Engelland and Smid also expire in 2017 too. So Stajan is the only older guy with a higher salary whos on the books for more than two years.

Seems like a decent pickup for the Flames. They needed a RW who has good possession stats and can pot a few goals here and there! Not a cap crippling price either. Nice work!

He started this thread when McKenzie first tweeted that a deal was pretty much done.
