Is anyone else seeing Benzema to Arsenal legitimately heating up? The plausible need for Real to sell before they can buy de Gea has increased my confidence but...

I hope not, that would be a good deal.

De Gea dropped for tomorrow's opener. Schweinsteiger not fit.
Quote:
“We have seen in our training sessions and matches he is not the David de Gea of last year,” Van Gaal said. “He tries, he does his upmost best, but it is a difficult situation. He cannot manage this situation. A human being is more than just a player and he cannot manage. So he will not play and you will have to wait to see who does. We have to play our first match, and this is the most important match, so I want players who can focus only on the match. He is not capable of doing that.” Bastian Schweinsteiger’s inclusion is also in doubt after Van Gaal admitted the German was troubled by the fitness issues that were cited by Pep Guardiola when explaining why Bayern Munich allowed him to leave. “I don’t think he is fit enough,” Van Gaal said. “We have to build the fitness he needs.”

let the games begin
can't remember the last time I was this excited for a new BPL season. Should be a great title race up front with Chelsea, Arsenal, City and United all looking great on paper and Liverpool and Tottenham lurking not far behind.
Also hoping that Bournemouth stays up this year. After reading about them and their recent history, it's hard not to cheer for them!

And so the 116-year wait for top flight football ends.
Just a shame I've got no chance of getting a ticket for any of our games this season
If any of you get a chance to grab some Bournemouth games on TV this season, you won't be disappointed.
We'll play with pace, we'll try and outscore the opposition.
We'll get well beaten in a few games, but we'll always try and entertain.
And we may yet stay up.
Exciting times.

There's something awesome about watching the Premier League in a stadium more suited for League One. Like you're watching a rags to riches story.

I didn't think Old Trafford looked too bad, actually.

First Premier League game ends in defeat. Harsh reality... a sign of how tough this league is going to be.

0-1 to Villa isn't too bad. I watched some of the first half and Bournemouth didn't seem too out of place.
Either way, it will be a tough old slog this season for both you and I. Norwich deserved better today but were on the wrong end of a couple of bad calls, but were also asleep at the wheel defensively, which led to the goals. Early days yet though.

Skip the middle man and get him straight to United.

the Benzema stuff has been going on a few days but I don't see it
Madrid have no other strikers, I get they can play CR7 there but it still leaves them nothing after him, plus I see no reason for City to sell them Aguero who would be the supposed replacement

Can't really say they were better for 70% of the game when they couldn't really break down the back 4. Our wing play is absolutely pitiful.

United was bad yesterday, but managing to somehow get those 3 points was crucial ... other top teams are dropping points already: Chelsea only 2-2 vs Swansea and Arsenal is down 0-2 vs West Ham at the moment.

Jose Mourinho proves he is the greatest evil genius of alltime. Many praised him having the compassion to let Petr Cech go to a crosstown rival, as Cech wanted to keep his family in London. After Cech's performance yesterday, it is clear Cech is a double agent, still working for Chelsea behind enemy lines. John Terry said Cech will mean 12-15 points, but we all assumed he meant additional points for Arsenal, not points lost.

This. I mean, that Liverpool/Stoke game was dreadful. Liverpool had no rhythm, nothing, but they still escape the Potteries with 3 points.

No kidding. Mourinho must have a room of voodoo dolls.
'Sure I'll sell to a rival....why not?'
I also find it funny that the Wolfsburg board find it strange that Kevin de Bruyne wants to go to City....isnt their least expensive player still earning like £100K/week? Its money.

Finally looks like Stoke are about to sign Shaqiri (attended the liverpool game yesterday).
http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...om-inter-milan
Might not be a huge deal for the top clubs, but this would be a big coup for Stoke. Hopefully (for us) Bojan picks up where he left off prior to injury last year, and is back sooner then later. Wouldn't be surprised if Walters leaves maybe this window if he feels he's dropped too far down the depth chart now. Would love to keep him though, he's a tenacious s.o.b.... maybe WBA are interested
