Omg I'm an idiot.

Went back to 2003 when I was checking what day June 8th was.

It would be one thing if you were presenting actual facts and data but unfortunately for all of us, there hasn’t been a cup win with a subsequent celebration at McMahon on Weekday at 2 pm, therefore I can predict whatever I want.

Here’s some actual numbers. In 2004, it was a grand total of 30,000 people that showed up to celebrate the Flames 2004 run at Olympic Plaza on a Sunday:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003%E..._Flames_season

How many people do you think would’ve shown up on a weekday during work hours? Maybe half? Now move that to McMahon and not downtown.

Sure that was a cup loss, at a different time and didn’t come with a parade but I think your hilarious outrage at the idea that hey, maybe we wouldn’t be able to fill a far flung stadium (let alone one the size of Soldier Field), is a little much.

Such a meaningless little off the cuff remark and you guys cry foul as if I just called for the Flames to be moved.
Not that it matters since the celebration was downtown and not at McMahon but I believe the 2004 Olympic Plaza celebration was on a Wednesday. The Flames lost on Monday June 7, 2004 and the celebration was Wed June 9, 2004.

Not really. It's still not comparable as it was downtown.

Either way, I'll say it again, this is a stupid argument and hopefully the Flames can prove me wrong.

That said, congrats to Chicago and their fans and their very impressive Stanley Cup celebration that I hope Calgary gets the chance to try and match one day soon.

Wouldn't the fact that we got 30k downtown for an event that wasn't a parade, in a venue that had no real ability to hold that many people, for a season that we didn't even win, actually be more telling that we would be able to fill 35k McMahon stadium if we actually won.

To compare the Stampede Parade usually gets around 350k. IMO if the Flames won a cup it would be a bigger deal then that and you would get at least that many people.

Won't be as big as Chicago, but the population of the Chicago metro area is 10 million so of course it won't be close.

Original question to Teuvo was about selfies and how much fans wanted to take those with him and how does it feel.
