Given the temperature (i.e. Perry) of the game, I don't see how thats a double minor... what a dumb call. Totally changed the game. I get that we got a 5-on-3 later, but still what a dumb call.
I thought we played a great game otherwise. Pretty annoyed that we lost based on that call, I just wanted to see it go 6 games... losing house money still sucks.

Three young, good players making mistakes and paying the price with a loss. Sucks, but they will learn and they will win the Flames way way more games than they will lose them in the future. Just sucks tonight.
The Gaudreau giveaway was the turning point of the game, imo. Kill a penalty then give that goal up quickly after? Deflating.
The reffing was just horrid. I don't care if the Flames got a 5-on-3 later to 'even it up', I'd rather they just call it the way it should be called the entire game. Corey Perry could do whatever he wanted to tonight, apparently. Good for him, I guess.
The Ducks didn't overwhelm the Flames tonight, the Flames gave this game away, unfortunately. Tough to watch, but the Ducks aren't some unbelievable force. I'm glad the Ducks feel good about themselves, they didn't look all that fantastic to me. Hope they think they have this one in the bag, that will bode well for Sunday. The Flames can still win this. There is no way in hell I'm giving up now.
|
This. I was kind of discouraged after games 1 and 2. We were kind of in it, but not really. Games 3 and 4 showed that the Flames can go punch for punch with the Ducks. A post here a post there, a couple bad plays reversed and this is going back to Anaheim tied.
I said it before, I will never believe this team is out of it until they actually are. This series was always going to be one of 2 things: A steamroll by the Ducks or a 7 game series that could go either way.
I say it goes to 7.

It wasent the finishing the check part. It was getting his hand up in the face.

not to sure about that...ducks played a good game as well...you can call them lucky if you want, but its very hard to win hockey games with any consistency when in the first four games the opposition has scored 16 goals. Calgary has not been able to defend against Perry or Getzlaf.

I honestly don't understand how Corey Perry gets the benefit of the doubt. He habitually runs goaltenders, that's what he's known for.
Twice Ramo is run over and Perry is the obvious culprit... no calls.
I'm mad and sad, even though I've been telling myself I wouldn't take losing this hard. BAH.

Perry and Getzlaf are whiney pukes. Getzlaf whining to the refs after every play was sickening. I lost all respect for him. That banner needs to come down. An embarrassment.

Let's say the #Flames lose on Sunday. A team in Year 2 of rebuild that's usually out-shot massively got 11 playoff games in.
Well said. So much to be proud of regardless how Sunday goes. I love this team, and can't wait until next season. Gaudreau in his 2nd year, Bennett and Ferland full-time, Gio back? My god.

Go Flames Go

Except tonight apparently. 0 points for both of them. Anaheim is just a good team from top to bottom with lots of depth. Hard to defend against 3-4 lines that can score.

The ref watched that collision with Brodie and Perry. My guess is that he thought it was incidental......but how you can allow a forward to take out a defenseman that had position on the guy with the puck, whether it was an accident or not and not call a penalty is just downright unacceptable.

lol okay...they are just leading the playoffs in scoring despite playing only 8 games so far. Sometimes you have to give the opposition credit

I still maintain Kesler interfered on the game winning goal with Ramo.
His skate was in the crease, and Ramo's pad caught on his skate when tried going post to post.
Gif please?

Refs sucked, but we still could have won this game.
We lost this game on the backs of some key mistakes by a rookie and a sophmore. We're here because of those players, and they're growing and developing every shift - I'm okay losing this way.
The curse ends Sunday.

Sorry I thought I heard it. Either way I wasn't happy with the penalty. We can blame both Colborne and the referee then.
Anyways I thought the Flames outplayed and outmuscled the Ducks all night. Ducks got away with lot of crap. Non-call on crashing the goalie not once but twice and no penalty. Perry hitting Brodie in the middle of the ice while the Ducks are going in their zone. How is that not a penalty? If Ferland did that Vatanen, I bet the ref would not think twice calling that interference. Anyways the 5 on 3 kill by the Ducks was huge. Oh well it's over with and we can't change the outcome of the game now. Forget tonight and prepare for the next game I guess. I still Bobelieve and never quit. Flames in 7.
