The injury is upper body. In a place no one expected. I believe people were guessing ribs.

Solar plexus? Nape? Philtrum? Scalp? Am I getting hot or cold?

It's not like you are going to throw a source under the bus. It almost seems as though you are bragging about knowing the injury when no one else does.

How could you even see a body injury? Based on your cryptic response I'm guessing arm in a sling.

Well, and I'm no medical doctor, but it suspect that's consistent with a clavicle injury. Not exactly a "place no one expected."
An obvious injury to a "place no one expected" would be like if he were wearing an eyepatch.

I get it, he is worried if he posts the injury all news networks will pick up the story and the world will know what is wrong with Bouma.
No offense, but you're just one guy and randomly bumping into Bouma isn't exactly the insider information that the news networks/bloggers are going to feed off of.

If you love blocked shots and hits, and only a handful of goals... you'll love this one! It's going to be surprisingly long.

thanks in advance, you're the freaking best.
side note about bennett, if he's not here to play in big games, why is he here at this time of year? you think the games will get less intense and less meaningful from here on out? my take is that the management team feels bennett gives the flames a bennett chance to win. now that the numbers game is over with respect to his ELC. I expect to see him.

Odds are slim that he plays tonight. If flames win tonight, I have no doubt that Bennett will be in for Saturday game.

He's here to learn. He is here because he is a big part of the future of the Flames. But the jump from Junior to the NHL is HUGE.
We all hope the Flames win tonight, and this will get him into Saturday's game.
How he does there dictates how ready he is at this stage, and lilely how soon we might see him again.

I highly doubt news networks are going to come on Calgarypuck and take one person's post as gospel and run with a headline breaking story.
Personally, I doubt it's a broken clavicle, but this is nothing but speculation on my part, and a little bit of evidence from where he actually took the shot.
Time will tell.

Makes sense. The only other options I see are neck brace and hand/arm cast for upper body injuries that are easily noticed and they don't make as much sense.

I can't believe people are complaining about my post. Would you rather not know anything at all? I wanted to inform everyone that he's visibly injured and it doesn't look good. But if I post more, I'm going against what the Flames choose to disclose. Could a news source find my post and run with it? Maybe, I don't know. Could the Vancouver Canucks start thinking about line matchups in Round 1 if they knew specifics of his injury? Maybe, I don't know.

You could've kept it to yourself, instead of telling us something with little information. Did you really think that we were just gonna let it loose without knowing anything?

That's crap, folks need to learn to read between the lines.
Its obvious what the injury is .......if someone can see it visually.
Personally I love hearing that type of stuff
Appreciate the Poster took the time to send the details to the Site Moderator's.
There is a reason NHL teams will say upper body injury or lower body injury.

Did Bouma have a lawyer following him making sure every person out in public who saw him was given a non-disclosure agreement?

As a member of the medical community, I think it's time to just shut up about it.
I was real pissed when somebody posted about how his wife did Ramo's MRI, and alluded to the result (think it was quoted from a non-CP board). Blatant violation of his rights by that wife, and the poster clearly knew better. Dude is an upcoming UFA, and all injury details, good or bad, are his and the team's right to retain.
I know that those who obtain this information outside a medical capacity haven't signed any confidentiality papers, but laws still exist for prohibiting people to disclose medical details with "reasonable insight" that it's breaking their right to medical confidentiality. Of course nobody here is going to be sued, but this is technically a legal issue. I appreciate that the poster didn't fully disclose Bouma's injury, but you've clearly got the insight that what you said would garner attention. And with no possible positive outcome except allowing us to spend more time bickering.
I know that NHL players play in a public arena and are injured in front of thousands, but they still have every right to medical confidentiality as the rest of us (minus what they sign on contracts allowing team doctors to be in-the-know). Please, simply accept the team statement regarding the injury, and leave it at that.
