Exactly.
For example, at 50/50 (coinflip) it has the Jets @ 60%
Weighted puts the Jets @ 47%

If it says 80%, then literally in 80% of all the possible ways the games can play out, the Flames make the playoffs.
Not only that, but remember that team chance of winning any particular game aren't static. Look at Minnesota, their confidence and goaltending had them losing lots of games, but taking their complete win % as a predictor probably sells them short. Similarly, the way the maple Leafs and Coyotes have been playing the win % is overly optimistic.

As the season wears on its much more predictive

Of course they are Bob. Nice to see Hartley keeping everyone loose.

Rumour has it Lowe brought a VCR into the dressing room today and played key moments of the Oilers 80's Stanley Cup runs for the players to get them pumped up for tonight's game. Saying they have worked all year for this moment. They have secured a solid draft lottery spot and their only goal remaining is to throw a wrench in the Flames playoff chances.

And again, running the risk of being totally annoying: Has anyone verified that the numbers they give, whether weighted or not, are reliable?

I can't tell if you're joking or not but I wouldn't put it past Lowe.

Default Hartley Damned if he does and maybe damned if he doesn't

If the regular lineup he has been using comes out flat and the Flames get beat Hartley will look like a goat.

Put the 2 young kids in and give the team a lift and maybe won't be a bad thing. Sometimes a new guy or 2 full of p..s and vinegar is what a team needs.

The other thing if what there is rumblings that a couple guys are playing hurt and not 100%. Putting a young gun in there may work out better for that player even though Hartley would want a practise or 2 first.

My other concern for Spoon not in is he has been playing all along and Potter has been warming the bench. How ready is he going to be.

He is damned if he does and damned if he don't and loses this important game!

Not a tough decision - this is a critical win meaning you should ice the best team you can - means both Bennett and Wotherspoon should play over Potter and Bollig.

Yeah, this sounds absolutely ridiculous and yet....its Kevin Lowe....so it isnt entirely implausible....

I picture Lowe with his face inches from the screen, excitedly pumping his fist in the air, oblivious to the fact that the dressing room is quietly going about getting ready for the game.
