You save it to your hard drive? Just upload it into the cloud.

Once I got rid of most of the redundant old files and did a defrag, my laptops stopped randomly freezing.
If you're running a mechanical hard drive and it randomly stops moving (especially the mouse), try that? It's essentially old software being bloat ware now. (Assuming you don't want to do a clean install)

^ much of that data collection is for Cortana personalization. Google Now (and Siri?) do the same thing.

I disabled it too. But not because of privacy worries, it just was a bit slow with it on. (Edge is on 24/7 if it's set up that way)

FYI for anyone on the fence about upgrading and/or hesitant to do a clean install, there's a free disk imaging tool called Macrium Reflect you can grab
http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
Image your main Windows drive to an external or 2nd hard drive before upgrading or formatting, and if something goes wrong or you just want to revert back then it's easy to do a full restore

Most of my settings just ported over. It's almost like a skin and I can find everything I need pretty easy. Minimal disruption for me so far. Aside from some stupid legacy ASUS drivers that I had to track down and uninstall from windows 7. If you are using 8/8.1 I suspect will be less of a hassle

I'm getting an error saying that Windows couldn't update the reserve system partition or something along those lines.
I'll take it as an omen that Windows 10 isn't quite ready

If I could import my passwords from chrome I'd use Edge full time.
Liking Windows 10. Massive improvement over the windows 8 I had on my laptop. Not sure if I want to upgrade my desktop from windows 7 yet though

Upgraded my Dell with Windows 7 and dual monitors today. The install was smooth as butter, and I really think Windows 10 is slick.
The thing that surprises me most is Edge, however. It really loads pages quicker than Chrome. I'm gonna try Edge as my default browser. I'm surprised they made the logo so close to the Internet Explorer "e." I think that will confuse a lot of people.
I'm slightly dissapointed I can't try out Cortana, though.

Just change your region to US. It takes like 4 seconds. Trust me, it's worth it because Cortana is really cool.
I just streamed NHL 15 from my Xbox One to my Win 10 PC and it worked perfectly.

Took the plunge and upgraded my main Windows 7 machine. My existing Win7 copy was less than legit, and I was prepared to pay for a new license key after the upgrade after reading a few related articles online. But to my surprise after the in-place upgrade was done Windows 10 is fully activated, so then I created a bootable USB with Microsoft's media creation tool and did a clean install from scratch. Windows 10 reactivated right away (after skipping the prompts to type in a key), so I guess I'm fully legal now. I imagine I'll have to pay for a full retail copy when it comes time to do a major PC upgrade (i.e. motherboard replacement) but for now not having to shell out $140 is nice
As for the OS itself, I'm very impressed. I hadn't used any of the preview builds so I'm seeing it for the first time, and I really like how they built upon Windows 8 and fixed all the major issues. Start menu is the obvious one, though I'm still not a fan of the new design so I'm very happy that Classic Shell is already Windows 10 compatible. If you're on 10 and want your Windows 7 menu style back, it's a must. One other tweak I had to do right away was change the application title bar color, not having it match my theme color and stay bright white was an eyesore. It's an easy fix though if you want to do the same
http://www.windowscentral.com/replac...0-colors-theme
Only driver that gave me an issue was my sound card (Creative X-Fi), had to hunt down a beta driver for it. Other than that though everything else works flawlessly including my entire list of apps that I just finished re-installing. For a brand new version of Windows to have so few issues at launch is quite the feat, Microsoft really nailed this one out of the park

Because this generation has grown up immersed in an era where privacy is largely an illusion. They just accept it, largely.
A simple comparable would be seat belt use. I grew up with it from birth, to the point where I am uncomfortable if I don't put the belt on as the first thing I do after getting in the car. But my parents' generation, and even more significantly, my grandparents, always found it to be a nuisance.

Encountered my first irritations - you'd think that Microsoft would want a Surface Pro 3 to be a flagship device to showcase Windows 10, yet the built in microphone isn't sensitive enough for the Hey Cortana feature, and the interface doesn't always recognize the stylus. For example, it took me ages to be able to adjust the width of the Start Menu because the interface wouldn't allow the stylus to make that adjustment, even though it could adjust the Start Menu vertically.
Also, how can Edge not support touch gestures for forward and back, when Chrome does it seamlessly??
That said, I'm still really enjoying the new OS overall.
