Last nights game was one of those occasions when factors worked in our favour (back up goalie who hadn't played in 26 games, 2nd night of B2B for the opposition and no Weber) and you have to take advantage, which we did and secured the two points.

4th line looked awesome all night long, I really liked the play of Shore and couldn't believe that his TOI was so low, he seemed to be out there a lot, maybe it was just every time they were out there they made something happen.

Nice of Mason Raymond to show up for a game. He really seemed to be trying to use his speed to get past defenders and try to drive for the net, rather thank making the zone and peeling back. He really needs to keep that up down the stretch.

Boy do we struggle to clear the zone at times. There were numersous occasions where we just struggled to even flip the pack out of the zone past their D, we need to be better at that.

Slightly off topic but there was one occasion last night when Hrudey was praising Hartley for standing by his younger players and how he showed faith in them, kept throwing them out there even if they made a mistake, so that they didn't sit on the bench worrying about making another mistake and getting benched etc. I just thought that was rather ironic considering the treatment that Beartschi seemed to get earlier in the season, he was getting benched pretty quick after any mistake. I guess him and Hartley just didn't see eye to eye on his play.

Finally good dominant performance by the flames. Once you're up by 3 it's ok to sit back in the third. First two period flames dominated. haven't seen this in a while.

Also nice to see that the Flames again had a lot of jump to their game after some performances that were a little flat in comparison.

When they play like that they have a good chance against any team.

Realize preds were on the second of back to backs, without their best two players, but man did the flames need a offensive showing like that. First game in a while where all lines were able to not only maintain offensive zone time but convert them into scoring chances, and even some goals.

Getting some guys feeling confident in their offensive game would be huge for the final stretch.

And if they win their division who will they play? Chicago or Minnesota. Really makes no difference to them. They won't catch Anaheim so they are going to playing Chicago or Minnesota no matter if they finish 1st or 2nd.

For me it is a really odd aside from what should be pure joy after winning one of the most important games in almost a decade.

I also hope that by the end of the season this game will not count in the top ten most important games of the year.

Agreed - you really have to pull for this kid to succeed.

To me it also speaks volumes to the culture that exists around the Flames organization - both at the NHL and the AHL level. A couple of years ago it seemed that Ferland might not even make the NHL, primarily due to some character questions. But over the last two years he has really sorted things out and he came to realize if he was going to stick with this organization he had to build the right character. Really happy for Ferdaddy.

Yep the same guy some poster(s) suggested should be traded earlier this season. Just love Hudler. For a small guy he is not afraid to go in front of the net and he's such a good playmaker. He's also a big influence to the young guys and a really nice guy on and off the ice.

I am glad Mason Raymond decided to start shooting the puck more vs Nashville. I know he did not score a goal but with him shooting more there is a possibility that he'll score or someone else is going for a big rebound. Great win overall and everyone contributed. Hope for another win against Dallas and lost by LA and Winnipeg the rest of remaining games in the season.

Stajan had an awesome game. The guy really showed his experience. I know there are many who think he should be on his way out, but the way he controlled the play down low and took that 4th line on his back was awesome to watch. Glad he's on the Flames and helping to mentor the younger players.

Man, Ferland's story is amazing. I grew up in the same hometown as him, and he was literally picked up off the community rink and had equipment bought for him to play AA hockey. Such a good story, and happy he is a Flame.

I would love to see him in the power/grind roll for the forseeable future. The kid has worked his tail off to be where he is.
