Needs to change his facebook pic, wearing an Oilers hat is no good.

Cool. I didn't think we'd get any sought after college UFAs because I don't see the Flames promising ice time or anything to these players. Glad the kid signed, looks like he's ready to earn anything he gets unlike the Schultz's of the world.

There was a quick mention of him in THN's FW edition as one of Five college free agents to watch
"Big, 23 year old D-man is a solid tw-way defender and excellent puck-mover with a bazooka shot."
Works for me.

Derek Wills says he talked to Conroy before the game about Morrison. Says Conroy is quite excited about the kid.

Sounds like the Oilers pushed hard for him last season. I like to think he made a decision to go to Calgary instead based on where the organizations are now relative to each other - and specifically the large amount of no-goodness up in Edmonton.

I guess if we assume Engelland takes the No 5 D spot, the last 2 go between : Wotherspoon, Kenney Morrison, Smid, Diaz (?) and maybe even Douglas Murray? If we can get Diaz and Douglas Murray on a 2-way contract, that would give us some nice No 7-10 D depth.

The real big thing for me is the skating. Seems to be the Flames MO. Lol Hrudey just broke it down that way too!

Quite the statement that the Oilers could not convince an Oilers fan that they have been courting for more than 2 years and lose him to their biggest rival.

I don't see Diaz returning or Murray being signed. They'll likely re-sign Schlemko and have a stiff competition at camp with the kids (morrison, wotherspoon and co. )
