I believe some people are overreacting here. I think the fact that this is only the SECOND year of a rebuild. The Flames are sitting pretty nice when considerimg this fact. I would like it if the Flames made it to the playoffs. I also don't want them to make it then blow it like Toronto did.

I feel that whenever GlenX is back from injury the team starts to play bad, is that just me?

I'll assume Backlund wasn't on the score sheet tonight,
He's getting top flight minutes night in and night out and without Super Lance, he wouldn't be producing at all.
This team in serious trouble if the "2nd line" center isn't going to contribute to the offense.

Yep. Forget the refs and the 17 other guys on the bench who also didn't perform well tonight, Backlund was the reason we lost.

If the flames make the playoffs I hope the league takes note on these officials. That was amateur hour and just a brutal mix of stuff going wrong at once. Missed puck drops?? Blown offside and icing calls, and the cake was them getting in the way of the puck all the time. Come on ref! I know hrudey and ball are our in house announcers but they were even getting miffed

Smart ass troll.
No Flame contributed to offense in the goal department. That's what shut out means. He seemed to create a lot of turnovers . He was quick on his feet.

If you lose 1-0, you really can't blame refs or goaltending? '1' whole goal gets you into OT wherein at least you grab a point if you can't get another.
Top line has been good lately as has Bouma and Jones. Backlund needs to start producing.

You're kidding me, you're ****ing kidding. You've got to be kidding us right now? You get completely owned on Backlund throughout the years to the point where it was actually comical this year with how much Backlund has developed and you're seriously going to try to subtly bring this debate back up again?
No way man, not happening, you're Backlund gig is over, it ended a few years ago, but it's definitely over now. Done. No more.
EDIT: Especially when you start of with "I'll assume Backlund wasn't on the score sheet tonight" in a game that you know was 1 - 0 Rangers, that right there proves you simply came in and said "Hey, I'm going to stir **** up about Backlund tonight.
You know who else you can assume wasn't on the scoresheet, buddy? The whole team. The team had zero goals, the tema had zero points, and no, you're boy Backlund didn't get any secret points that we don't know about.

I hope I'm not the only one reporting Where are you blah blah blah's post. He's worse then DOOM who was booted for being obsessed with singular issues and dragging down equality of threads he was in.
Totally obsessive, it's disgusting.

I agree that Backlund needs to start scoring, but he hasn't been playing terrible. 18 guys failed to score tonight. To single out Backlund is both ludicrous and predictable.

Forget the refs. You have to play through whatever bullship gets tossed your way. Flames lost a one goal game. still not the end of the world. They have another game tomorrow to look to. As rough as that game was, the Flames hung with the eastern champs tonight. Ramo had a great big amazing game. Take what you can from this one and move on. It's not going o get any easier.
Poirier looks like he's going to be a good egg heading into the next few years. Scary talent is emerging and we haven't even seen the best of any of them yet.

Ok here's a huge issue;
The Flames get a number of odd man rushes every game they gain the zone, and all of them stop skating. 3 or 4 Flames in the zone and all of them frozen. There should be atleast one guy charging right at the net from an outside angle. Instead they form a box in standstill. Their shots go down, their chances go down, their goals go down. Not taking advantage, or even getting shots, on the odd man rushes is one of the biggest reasons we are out of the playoff spot. Wasting those odd man rushes every game, hello 9th spot.
