Personally I wish 960 had some competition in the form of a TSN radio station. The morning show is hit or miss for me. Sometimes it is funny but there are also portions that are unlistenable.

I like Boomer- I am surprised people say he 'belittles listeners' when in actuality, I think his 'regular guy' persona actually relates to the general listener better than almost anyone else. He comes across as just another guy you'd have a beer with that like sports, not the ex-pro like Rhett, the super sports nerds (old-Rob, young-Pat) or the younger generation/advanced stats guy (Pinder).

I think his regular-guy schtick also undersells his skills as a very good interviewer and his ability to manage or 'produce' a segment.

All in all, I think it'll be a loss for Calgary sports radio if he goes.

I think Boomer is great, he has the same sense of humour I have. I was another rider fan who never took his comment seriously, it was just a joke.

A while back Boomer did some bit where he was the voice of a 14 year old female hockey fan. It was cringeworthy to say the least. I like Rhett though. Give him a show.

I think 8 pages of chatter on a rumour about Boomer leaving says a lot about the interest level he has among flames fans, who are the #1 target market for his show.

Count me in as among those who like the show with him Rhett and Pinder. I wish they would do more creative stuff like Richards used to, I think they could pull it off. But the inside jokes are pretty good and they clearly have some chemistry especially Boomer and Warrener.

I stopped listening when he took over and haven't gone back since, he's terrible. He can't articulate a point all he can do is yell louder over the voice of whoever is talking, and his condescending tone to whoever has a dissenting opinion got old really quick, he acts like a giant toddler.

I'm surprised so many people actually like him.

My $0.02. I did not like boomer at the start. I thought he tried too hard and smacked on Rhett too much.

Now, I think he has relaxed into his role and is doing a very good job. He has also reduced the amount of interruptions which drives me nuts. The chemistry the three of them has is enjoyable and makes me laugh. I would be dissappointed if he left. I hate it when Rhett is not on. He is the best part of the show and I wish they would just let him tell his stories.
