Does anyone know/remember the last season we had a better start after 26 games than 16-8-2? Incredible start!

Attended the game tonight (really good seats too). Aside from the obvious Jooris love, Johnny was almost always making a play. He made some incredible passes. I saw Granlund get shifted down, but I thought he was OK before then. Byron I thought was good. Ramo was solid. Top line played well. The crowd was into it for a Tuesday.

The bad: A couple times they passed up good shots (Hudler and Johnny especially) and ended up not getting a shot at all. They were fenced in their own end for some extended stretches.

handgroen is always good for them. He was usually the only one that ever seemed to enjoy when I posted this too:

Watching gaudreau so far this year... It's like when ever the puck comes anywhere near him he has it on a string. And I don't mean that in terms of just dekes and fancy plays. I mean he picks up pucks in his feet with speed and even bad passes he gets control of so quickly... Rarely slowing down to get control. Like look at how he recovers the puck in his feet before the assist on jooris's empty net goal. It's a rare skill only a few guys have in the league... Crosby comes to mind to be honest in the way they both do it.

Counting this season and last season's total points for Giordano, he has 73 points in 90 games... Unreal.

I'll start by saying healthy bodies returning to the lineup, will not be a good thing.

Thanks for 3 great starts Mr. Ramo, but they need to keep Hiller warm and the tandem competing.

Jooris!!!

Tj and Gio - as long as they play this way (even a bit lesser), this team is playoff bound, not only this year but every year.

Bravo Flames. Bravo.

I have to agree that this has been the most exciting Flames team in years. I love how every night different players step up. No one is bigger than the team and everyone plays for each other.

We looked like more skilled team. Coyotes worker harder. Lesson learned more skilled team wins.

Advanced stats talk isn't going away. Neither is people constantly whining and crying about it (I'm not including you in that statement, btw). So, at least everybody gets to be annoyed equally.

Here's a fun "advanced stat" though....

On-ice shooting percentage (team sh% when player is on the ice), minimum 10 games played:
1. Nathan Guenin COL 19.54%
2. Johnny Gaudreau CGY 17.45%
3. Joe Colborne CGY 16.33
4. Mark Giordano CGY 15.94
5. TJ Brodie CGY 15.74
6. Josh Jooris CGY 15.46

It's not just the two D making things happen right now. Put Gaudreau or Jooris on the ice, and the Flames are crushing it.

Undrafted Josh Jorris has 8 goals this season. The last five first overall picks are Ekblad (4), MacKinnon (5), Yakupov (3), Nugent-Hopkins (5) and Hall (8).

That Kris Russel to Josh Jooris goal last night should be a candidate on TSN's 1V1 - the more you watch that replay the more you realize what a thing of beauty it was!

So... We need to make a trade for Nathan Guenin.

I'm a huge believer in advanced statistics, but my belief is wavering for sure.

Two factors:
1) Oilers getting all these high corsi players and then "playing for corsi" leading to team failure.
2) Flames. Just wtf is happening? No stat explains the Flames right now.

Just another unbelievably dominant game (several in the last little while) where we've been out-corsi'ed so hard and yet was so comfortable.
