50 shots, and 30 blocked shots as well. Hiller was great, but also a committed defense.

What huge win for Hiller. Brodie made a real smart play on that break out and back hand pass to Backlund.
Bigtime sniper wrist shot!

Bend but never break. Gosh, they came close though. Very, very proud of the effort, determination and most of all, the win. Suck it Hawks.

Backlund is undoubtedly a leader on this team.

I feel this game relieves the pain from that massive 5 goal come from behind loss the flames suffered a few years back...

Haha oilers behind.

The Blackhawks played almost a full period with the man advantage. Hartley managed his bench well.
Also the Flames had to kill 14 minutes of penalties, which neither of the young guys currently do. The minutes will be higher when its not so one sided in the penalties.

There are some that, without knowing them personally, I swear would prefer the Oilers' approach to developing a team and prospects. They mock the Oilers out of one side of their mouths and then criticize Hartley for not handing out freebies to younger players out of the other.

The constant drive to win and the fact that the Flames, on the back-end of a back-to-back during a 6 game road trip at the beginning of the season, can manage 2 points in Chicago when our neighbors to the north mail it in against the Kings in the first 5 minutes should get Hartley at least a little slack... like 20 games worth.

IIRC Joseph played about 5 games for us.

That's an impressive stat. +/- must always be taken with a grain of salt IMO and always coupled with other data points and actually watching the games. But having done some of that, crazy plus minus for them because you know they are logging our toughest minutes against the oppositions best.

I don't really agree. I think he had some pretty good moments in that game too, as well as bad. Overall I think a better night for him than some. Would be nice to get him into some kind form.
