And Thomas Hickey, former top 5 pick, still just 25, finally started to show why he was picked so high last year, he's had quite a long development curve but is another good young D for the Isles.

The Isles are finally starting to look decent. With Halak in net and the rest of their guys, they should be a playoff team this year

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Isles now have no 1st rounder, no 2nd rounders and, if Boychuk signs with them again, no 3rd rounder. Guess Snow already has holidays booked for when the 2015 draft is, he is going to be a quiet man.
Seriously though, good moves by the Isles. Their blue line is terrible and this I think does improve them. Real all in moves for them mind, if this backfires...

Elliotte FriedmanVerified account @FriedgeHNIC Per @reporterchris, the conditional pick in the NYI/BOS trade is if NYI deals Boychuk within Eastern Conference next season.

not correct. a) Boychuk re-signing has no effect - the condition is "Boston gets a 3rd if NYI trades Boychuk to another team in the East this season", and b) right now, they also have the Panthers' 3rd because of a trade at this year's draft:
Quote:
NY Islanders traded their 3rd-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft (65th overall) to Florida for Florida’s 3rd-round pick in 2015.

so even if they trade Boychuk within the conference and the condition is exercised, they still have a 3rd.
