I really thought The Fisher King was his finest performance outside of Dead Poets Society and The World According to Garp.

RIP.

There was a rumour they are remaking Mrs. Doubtfire but I guess it won't happen now.

I love watching Robin Williams' comedy on stage mimicking other people like Bill Clinton and so on. Most of my favorite Robin Williams' movies are comedy except Dead Poet's Society, Awakenings.

Always enjoy hearing Robin Williams doing "Good Morning Vietnam!!"

Rest in Peace Robin Williams. The world will miss you!

I can't remember a time when I was unable to sleep, or really focus on anything but the fact that someone I have never personally met has died. He was truly one of the greats and will be missed.

Conan O'Brien and team heard the crappy news while filming their show this afternoon. They (Conan and Andy and guest Will Arnett) talk about him at the end of the show.

I had heard he was bi-polar and battling depression was only half surprised. Being a celebrity aside, I think if you really look at it there are few people you can say you really know that well. You get someone like him who can make so many people laugh so hard and so often but then just behind all the laughter be battling demons like that.

To turn it into something that lifts people up like he did though I think is what I'll miss most.

RIP Robin Williams.

I can't find the entire interview, but this clip from The Tonight Show where Robin is making fun of Angelina Jolie for having her baby in Africa is just hilarious.

RIP Mr. Williams. We're all shedding tears of joy tonight. Thanks for making us laugh and cry.

A very powerful scene from an early Robin Williams film - "Moscow On The Hudson"

Wow, you can literally see the pain on Conan's face while speaking about Robin's death.

So sad to hear, even in some of his terrible movies he always gave us some moments of his laughter with just his mere presence.

Although like others I really loved him in some of his more serious work; One Hour Photo, Insomnia, and especially The Fisher King among them.

As a kid I must have watched Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, and even Jumanji a million times. It's now a shame we'll never get that expected sequel to Doubtfire.

Someone posted this a few months back in the Funny or Cool picture thread, and I think it deserves another look here. I just love how on cue Williams was, and how respectful he is to the military.

For me

Patch Adams was one of his best.

Comedy gold combined with some serious acting when needed.

RIP.

16.3 per 100k vs 5.4 per 100k for females. I never knew that.

Officials: Robin Williams apparently hanged himself with a belt
Quote:
Williams' body was found "slightly suspended in a seated position" with a belt around his neck, Boyd said. The other end of the belt was between a closed door and the door frame, said Boyd, who also is the county's assistant chief deputy coroner.
Williams' left wrist had cuts when he was found dead in a bedroom at his home, Boyd said. A pocket knife was found near his body, and a red material consistent with dried blood was found on the knife, Boyd said. He said tests will be conducted to determine whether the substance is blood.

As an actor and comedian, I was pretty neutral on his work, but he really did seem like a great guy. I respect him a lot for his charity work and always trying to bring levity to serious issues.

I do hope that it helps bring more attention to depression and suicide prevention.
