The police presence being there since last night explains why a friend saw 5 units headed toward Airdrie as she was coming this direction on her way home last night. We wondered if it might be connected.

Do we know this is related to the disappearance for sure? Or is it just guessing/trying to connect dots at this point?

It simply could be its own seperate incident....no?

Police/RCMP have yet to confirm that the presence in Airdrie is officially related to the 3 missing people, however the number of CPS are growing on the scene.

My understanding of the RCMP/CPS relationship is that unless this is related to a CPS investigation, CPS would not attend as this is not their jurisdiction. If it was simply something to do with someone in the country, it would be an RCMP matter.

Cool seeing some of the RCMP tanks, easy to forget they have these types of special ops vehicles.

Quite a few police vehicles in the yard itself as well & it appears a tent has also been set up. #yyc pic.twitter.com/gG6Bj98ahw
This is the area where police are setup and searching. NE of Airdrie.

This is weirder, I know the guy that lives next to that house.

Edit: it is his neighbour, he just said to me "It's been a gong show since around 5 last night when the arrested the neighbors son"

Edit edit:

"As soon as I saw it on the news I knew it was his truck"

Those type of resources plus the heavy CPS presence, this couldn't possibly be anything aside from this Amber Alert.

A more zoomed out view.

Looks like the search might now be moved to Airdrie.

Calgary Police confirm the search in the city's Parkhill area is over. No word on activity outside Airdrie yet. #yyc

Wouldn't it be incredible if we witnessed the break in the case in this series of posts on CP?

The fact that it appears that Raekwon and his neighbour lead to an arrest is good news.

Hopefully the missing people are found in good condition so that this becomes one heck of a good news story.

This is the probably the closest to a confirmation that we will get at this point that it's related (aside from Rawkwon pretty much confirming it)

Quote:
Corp. Carol McKinley of the RCMP says the operation is part of a Calgary Police Service investigation and the RCMP is assisting the CPS led response.

Again, in rural Alberta, RCMP would be the primary police response for anything unless it's an ongoing CPS investigation.

A shed on the property appears to be the primary search area now:

Quote:
Reid Southwick @theredsouth · 9m
Crews searching shed on property at the centre of police presence NE of #Airdrie. At least 10 ppl visible from here
Quote:
At least a dozen crews have re-entered this shed at rural property NE of #Airdrie. Site of police presence.

Also the timelines don't quite add up, they were at the property NE of Airdrie about 5, I saw the guy just after 5 in SW Airdrie heading west, maybe he got tipped off? If I saw a picture I could probably confirm the driver.

I really don't like the looks of that search, if that is indeed the second scene of the kidnapping. You'd think if they arrested someone a while ago and they were alive on that property, they would have found them by now.

Not trying to add to the speculation/rumor mill, but when you combine the "signs of struggle and injury" at the Calgary home with what appears to be an intense grid search of that property....I don't know, doesn't look good to me.

I'd almost rather they don't find anything there at this point, hopefully they're somewhere else and they just found the guy there.

^ I have to agree. That looks more like your standard "looking for a weapon in a crime" sort of search then a "looking for living people" search.

Plus, they keep going back into a shed. If you have someone alive in it, I'm sure they would be attempting to make some sort of noise when you hear a number of police or people in the area.

Hopefully we are both wrong.

Please just let these people still be alive and well, especially the little 5 year old boy who hasn't even had a chance to live his life yet.
