I was at the game tonight in Cincinatti. Great game. Cincinatti is a great place to watch hockey. Tons of Cyclone & Mighty Duck jerseys in the crowd ranging from the IHL to the AHL & the ECHL. RThe crowd is passionate & really gets into it with chants. Ramage didn't play so I assumed an injury. Anyways fun unexpected treat during my trip here in Ohio.

Well by comparison, the only time I saw the Heat mentioned on TV was when they were in the playoffs and that was barely a 30 second mention with a incorrect and brief screen graphic of the score. During the regular season, they were never mentioned for anything aside from call-ups/demotions.
It seems like the mainstream sports media in Calgary really have no clue of hockey outside of the Flames/Hitmen/Calgary Canucks.
Don't understand why there is zero mention of this series inthe Calgary Media
There is something like 3 mediocre to below average Flames prospects on the Aces? No disrespect to the followers of the Aces, but based on the popularity of this thread I think the % of people in Calgary that care about this is less than 1 in 1000.
1 in 1000 would be pushing it. The affiliation stuff isn't all that important in hockey. The Aces pay the Flames to have the honor of being an affiliate. It's really a branding thing that the ECHL uses to avoid having to pay for veterans families.
If the Flames wanted it mentioned they could just send out a press release some media would pick it up. You might see that after an Aces cup win.
I have no illusion that this is important for your whole fan base. What I can say is it's fun to watch someone you have a connection to go for a championship.
Sure beats having to use the old "Working on the confidential Johnson account" so you can close the door and watch.
Which yes, I have actually sunk that low to watch a game at work. Which in my defence, they already had me working unplanned OT until well into the evening so figured this was fair. I could work on one screen, watch on the other.

Rob Madore regular season 32 games, faced 906 shots and made 823 saves. Post season 25 games (including this one) 790 shots and 735 saves. Guy is having a hell of a post season.
