Exactly - he's arguably the best player in the draft DESPITE a lack of physical maturity relative to the other guys.
This is a big positive for him, not a negative. Suggesting that this is a strike against him is complete foolishness.

Draisaitl's interview was my favorite. Although I do feel a little dirty having to go to the Oilers site to get this content.

Bennett's lack of physical development also makes it more likely the Oilers pass on him, if they want a more ready NHL prospect.

I'm pretty excited that Bennett can't do a pull-up. Think about how much room he has to grow.

That was my thought as well (though I am trying not to say anything that will jinx my ongoing hopes that they take Draisaitl)
My order of preference for our pick continues to be:
Bennett
Reinhart
Ekblad
Draisaitl

Am I missing something? Nick Ritchie's fitness was questionable and people slag him. Bennett can't even do one pull up and he gets a pass?

Any teenager not being able to do a pull-up, let alone an athelete, is one of the more bizarre things I've ever heard.

My concern is not that Bennett couldn't do a pull-up but that he knew he'd have to do them and still couldn't pull them off. You'd think it would be something you'd focus on in the gym during the time after his season ended and the combine started.
The strength thing isn't the red flag... more the fact that it might show questionable work ethic in the gym.

I just can't get over how strange it is. Almost like Bennett and the media are pranking people.

So you know what his post-season schedule was and what he was thinking and what is important to him?
It just kills me how people get worked up about little things and try to infer so much from them.
He is 17. He is arguably the best and is definitely one of the most intense players in the draft. The game is hockey, it isn't rope-pull.
Plus, strength is the easiest thing to work on with these kids. I can get Bennett as strong as the other kids. Can you get them as talented as him?

Yeah, the same argument about "think of how good he'll be once he gets physically committed" applies just as well to Ritchie.
Who, by they way, looks like the majority of his body fat is in his face somehow. I don't think he looks overweight really.

Ekblad seemed mature for his age from his interview. Well spoken. Draisaitl's English was really good. Not even that much of an accent. Well spoken as well. Reinhart and Bennett obviously looked a lot smaller than both. Two men to two kids. All seemed like good kids though. Pretty excited to get any of them.

Kapanen also was even more fluent than Draisatl, didn't notice any accent at all. Although should have guessed it since obviously he lived in the States because of his dad.

I didn't think he looks that bad either. Guess we'll see how his conditioning will be.

I would put more value on dominating while being undersized/weaker than dominating while being 50 pounds heavier than a lot of guys.

Ekblad on TSN radio just after testing:
http://iphone.tsn.ca/tsnpodcasts/Com...n%20Ekblad.mp3
Ekblad says he lasted 12:10 on the VO2.
Monahan lasted 14:00 last year just for comparison
