Less emphasis on online play would be nice. Be a pro and be a gm mode are years behind and they're all I play. But more realistic play would be nice, sick of seeing fourth liners split the D and deke a goalie. Realistic strategies like having grinders dump it in and work it out rather than every player pretending to be Wayne Gretzky.
Then some little things like real goalie masks and better player faces, more realistic equipment, etc. Not sure why in 14 Giordano looked like a bald Seymour Skinner, or why Brian Mcgrattan had a handlebar moustache and wore a visor.
And the menus and load times.... Jesus Christ those have only been getting worse.
Also wish they'd bring back PC nhl games. Guess I have to buy a PS4 now...

i agree on "less emphasis on online" but i think it's a pipe dream.
I used to really enjoy playing "online vs/hut". but i can only do this for maybe the first month or so of the game release, as after that exploits are found and it just becomes a cheese fest. that isn't a knock on the game itself, it's an obvious outcome of any video game. My issue is in order to tackle all the exploits/cheese found in the game, each tuner/patch dumbs down the game so much that eventually it just plays as the previous year's game. it's like 5 steps forward, 4 steps back..

They need to fix the AI teammates almost getting to centre and then shooting it in and icing the damn puck. One more stride for christs sake!

I don't play HUT but have never had this issue with online vs. I win most of my games and do it simply by outshooting the other team, I've never really figured out the cheese goals. Also, EASHL and so forth never seem to get that way and are quite fun.
I really think that GM Connected, if not for the menu lag, would basically obsolete regular GM mode. Why would you want to play against an AI when you can play the same mode against real people?

well i know i wouldn't be in favour of online be a gm. i only have times when my wife/baby are basically asleep to play the games so get in a game or two late night before bed, or early morning before gym/work, at which time no one is really online. some people just don't value online aspect of gaming and would prefer traditional offline gaming.

I mean no disrespect to people I've played with from CP, but online leagues can be a massive pain in the ass at times. When I was in the CP league I was a new dad and my time quickly became very limited and very important. I still tried very hard to make time to play the games, but it didn't always matter.
I'd show up 5 minutes before the game was set to start, hang out for 10 minutes, text the opponent only to find out he's running a little late. So I wait another 10 minutes, and then realize he suddenly can't play. When you only have 40 minutes to play in an evening, you've just spent the only time you had for yourself that entire day sitting in a chair waiting for nothing.
I think the above scenario happened about 3 times in various ways before I quit (not the only reason). Sometimes it was completely understandable, but that doesn't make it any less inconvenient.
I prefer to play people, but I end up playing AI because it's just more convenient.

Yea I hate playing sports games online. I occasionally play online versus with a friend but for the most part I just want to play Be A Pro or Be A GM by myself.

less emphasis on online? Are you kidding me.... the online is nearly broken. The only reason I buy the games are for online and it doesn't even work properly.

Exactly. It's dead. Let's find the nearest ice flow and set it out to die. Farewell micro transactions. We'll miss you at times, but not often.

They'll never abandon online because they make so much money off the nerds that play HUT.

well being a latecomer i bought nhl14 this week and wow....what an unfinished game they released!
Still full of dumb AI that helps the computer so much, i'd of thought after this many years they could of programmed/coded this game properly so it doesnt need to cheat (you can see the game processing/slowing down when this happens) to score on you half the time...
And this is a tiny grumble but the music.....what greasy oiler fan did they drag in to make this playlist?
Im shocked most of those songs were recorded in the last few years...

Family is literally the worst song I've ever heard and it has no place in a hockey game.

Are you actually missing the part of your personality that allows you to catch your own irony? Or are you purposely ignoring it?
Online is kind of just something that's a problem for you, much like everything else is just stuff other people like. Now that you're caught up, you can relax.
Anyways, as I was saying, online doesn't need nearly as much work as other aspects of the game. It certainly could use SOME work, but big problems don't seem very wide spread. I've experienced next to none.

Yeah, and they could fix this so easily. In any GM connected league, allow teams to play anyone who happens to be online, but don't make it count for anything. That way if you feel like playing with your GM Connected team, as long as there is one other person online in your league, regardless of whether they're on your schedule, you can play. Seems like an easy thing to add but not an idea that has much traction, I've never seen anyone else on that bandwagon.

You are hyper-sensitive to criticism is what happened. Obviously I know that I have my own likes and dislikes but your dismissive attitude is what prompted my response in the first place and your flippant childish rhetoric is what got the second response. Telling me that other people have their own preferences... seriously? Thanks for insight Eyensteen, never would have figured that one out.
