Why must Cotton Eyed Joe be played at all live hockey games? I even heard it in Nottingham recently at the British Elite League semi-finals.

I remember at the Flames rally after the playoffs, the announcer clearly had no idea who he was.

I think he called him "Brandon Evan".

Those are still his only two NHL games. And he has been in the AHL for ages... not even a single game elsewhere.
