Does he hit much?

There was a rumour that Montreal was set to pick him at 25 if we didn't take him.

How has Kanzig looked? I don't expect him to be anything too special but I am really pulling for him to develop into something good. I just love that we were able to pick him. Any pictures of him?

I'm hoping Kanzig turns into a bigger, meaner Regehr.

Good story on Poirier.
http://flamesfrom80feet.blogspot.ca
Quote:
Long term, Poirier looks to have a pretty bright future according to Ward.
“Here's a guy that you would project at some point in time, will be able to get for sure in the 20s, if not in the 30s, in goals in the NHL. He's that gifted as a skater and he's got great vision. There are good days ahead for Emile.”
And for his part, Poirier sees good days ahead for the Flames also. He didn’t see Calgary play a lot this year but he did see them play live in Ottawa and also watched them play on TV a few times. He says he liked what he saw and feels his style is a good fit with the blue-collar work ethic the team displayed all season.
“That's good for me, I like that style of play. The intensity in the game, I loved it,” said Poirier.

That was a good read on Porier.
I am already so excited for the draft, development camp, rookie tournament, and training camp

I believe in the Pony Power

The possible goal scoring is exciting but the more exciting thing is if he is a 20/25/30 goal guy he will also be a 200 foot player (getting tired of that term but it applies here) and a pest.
This is the type of player teams always want but find it hard to get.
Again if he reaches his potential.

Also the kind of player that you hate playing against but would love on your team.
If the goal is to be harder to play against, EP is a terrific prospect.

I would be very happy with a Brad Marchand type player with a bit more skill and class. Still want him to be an agitator but one that knows when not to cross the line.

Brad Marchand or Todd Marchant?
Guessing you meant Brad and not the former dirty Oiler.

Wasn't Kanzig a guy everyone was a bit iffy on because they thought we drafted a goon?
I'm liking what I'm hearing on this guy.

^ It seems like he has a lot more upside than Breen. I do remember us all thinking that we just drafted a goon, but he has changed my perspective. Can't wait to see what he can do.

Yeah meat Brad although Todd was a pretty good skater to which Poirier is. I don't recall Todd Marchant being an overly dirty player.

Kanzig's skating isn't bad for a giant but it could use work. Definitely not tripping over his own feet though.

Having watched Kanzig about 15 times this year I would say that that would be his ceiling. Could happen, the guy is a monster, skating is severely lacking and he has little to no offensive instincts, but he is a tough SOB.
