They haven't tuned him out, they play they way he coaches. Sutter doesn't focus on goal scoring at all, it's always about goals against. He's also correct, the kings wont win any games letting in 5 plus goals.

On the other hand, he's got to realize Regehr isn't going to be an offensive catalyst for a comeback. I'm puzzled as to why he played so many minutes in the 3rd over muzzin.

I think people are making a mistake writing off the Avs so easily. They were the best team in the league after the New Year, and have done much of that without (debatably) their best player in Duchene who could be back next round.

They have a ton of depth as well, and a good set of skilled guys. They can't compete in terms of grit, but they do have the necessary experience in the lockerroom with Talbot, Sarich, Giguere, and of course Roy. Their no-name defensive core might end up being their downfall, but realistically with a healthy Duchene they can only get better. Varlamov has also had a stellar year, and should keep them in most games.

That was awesome to watch! Total domination in the first 2 games. San Jose is a lot faster than LA and hits everything in sight. This is a deeper Sharks team than in previous years with everyone being healthy at the right time.

Downtown SJ was rocking tonight. The atmosphere in the city right now is great.

LA should step up on home ice. Hopefully the Sharks can get at least a split in LA.

I don't think the players suddenly stop listening to Darryl Sutter. Give the San Jose Sharks credit, they outplayed and outscored LA Kings two games now. San Jose is actually a talented team with Thornton, Marleau, Couture, Pavelski, Hertl, Burns, Boyle and goaltender Anti Niemi who struggled late in the season but starting to play well on time.
Well, they are going to LA on the 3rd game so I have a feeling that if Quick gives up at least 3 or more goals, Sutter will be putting Martin Jones in net.

Don't forget Vlasic, he's the top defenseman on the team.

San Jose is scary good.

I have no idea how Minnesota traded Burns.

LA will likely win their two home games as well. I can see this going 7 but think the Sharks will pull it off.

For some reason I remember him asking for a trade. Don't remember for sure though

It was Burns and a 2012 2nd pick for Setoguchi, Coyle and a 1st in 2011. Not the greatest value with Setoguchi continuing to play below his rookie season, but Burns had a number of concussion issues prior to the trade.

Wasn't he also a defensman too? They were pretty much trading Burns for a dynamic forward, or so I thought at the time.

In all honestly though, new site seems great.
Didn't start switching back to forward until 08-09 IIRC and even then it was back and forth.

Calling it now, Kings go out in 4-5 games, Daryl Sutter will become Head Coach and GM!

That's bad news for Kings fans though. Darryl's a better coach than GM.

CBC is usually pretty bad at capturing crowd noise. That crowd was LOUD.

That was such an awesome game last night.

Raffi Torres has got to be one of the best playoff performers on the last three years. He just knows how to step up in big games, as big of an a-hole as he is.

SJ looks really good so far.

But these two teams always win on home ice - let's wait and see how the two games go in LA before we hand the Sharks the cup.

Also, I was shocked that they went with the first PP unit late in the 3rd and already up 6-2 on that 5 on 3. That could really come back to bite them in the arse.

It's going to be tough for LA to win 4 out of the 5 games now. I picked them in 7, but SJ is really not making that happen. Wouldn't even be surprised if there was a sweep.

I don't follow....why ice an inferior unit when you have an excellent scoring opportunity?
