Because outside of those forwards the team around them is crap. Their defense is awful, they rely on guys like Nathan Gerbe, Jiri Tlusty and Riley Nash for secondary scoring, the defense is led by Sekeras and Faulk with barely replacement level guys behind them and Ward missed half the season and played the other half like a guy injured.

I still think a team with a top line of Skinner-Staal-Semin should be better but that team has a whole lot of crap taking up space in key roles like the 2nd line and 2nd pairing.
