Naw I'm going solo. Using AirBNB for the majority of my stays.

What are the absolute worst times of year to travel in England weather wise?

January? Feb?

Is a trip in March feasible? Does the complete lack of tourists make up for the rain?

For anyone going to Barcelona, Hotel Majestic has an amazing rooftop bar/patio for drinks- especially at night as you can see the entire city- dont think you have to be a hotel guest to go up. We were staying at the sister boutique hotel Mur Muri, which was fantastic.

Edit- just did a search and it seems there are quite a few to pick from. Anyway, the one on hotel majestic was awesome. Would recommend it, or a similar one, for evening drinks.

Ahhhh don't even get me started. Remember how I mentioned the wifi in that terrible hotel not working? Well we met girls at Pacha one night and we were supposed to meet up with them to go on one of those boat parties but our god damn wifi didn't work and we could find any free wifi anywhere on the island. Once we landed in Paris, we got like 10 FB messages from them trying to get a hold of us. Terrible. I still have the one girl on FB as a constant reminder of how the wifi robbed us in Ibiza.

But yeah I've heard both good and bad about those parties. I think it's luck of the draw. The people who said it was bad said they had a sausagefest on there. They sell tickets for those boat parties every where though.

Whereabouts are you staying in Copenhagen? Spent a little time there last month on my vacation to the homeland. It's easy to get around, but MUCH easier if you're in a nice spot. I can definitely give you some nice tips that'll be easy to get to from your place.

I'm actually just going there to drop off my stuff because I'll be heading back there in September to do a semester at the university. I'll be in student housing, probably in Amager.

In that case just nab a bike and and do your thing in September. Best to just discover it yourself.

Amager isn't really close to anything nice or exciting, but it's fairly quiet. Is that where you're staying all semester? Or just on your overnight?

The semester. I'm not super-stoked about the area, but the student housing there has specific accommodations I need for medical purposes that some of the housing in more exciting areas don't have. But I've heard that it's pretty much 15 min to anywhere by train anyways, so I'm sure I'll be fine.

Yeah, it's not great, but it's about 10 to Københaven H, then you can get to almost anywhere within another 10.

Super easy really. Once you're settled, I suspect you'll be chilling around Nyhavn a lot of the nicer nights. It's an awesome bar strip, really classic architecture, and a light walk from the University.

Spend your time finding the best Smørrebrød. Its the best thing you can get. Mad tasty.

I lied. It looks like the place I'm hoping to get into is closer into town in Ørestad, so only about 17 min into central Copenhagen on the metro.

Guy, you could WALK to central Copenhagen in 17 minutes from there haha.

Nice spot, a lot better than Amager. Super close to everything you need. If you're a walker or if you do nab a bike, don't bother with the metro at all from there. You're 15 minutes to the University by bike and about a half hour to 45 minutes walking.

Enjoy!

Default Germany - Italy: 12 Day Trip

Hey Guys,

Really appreciate some of the insight of this thread it has helped me plan my trip.

Looking for some insight and/or suggestions regarding the rough intenaerary of my upcoming trip...

12 Day Trip flying into Frankfurt and out of Rome: Spending a few days in and around each city (Frankfurt and Rome) to visit family/friends leaving 5 days to visit 3 other locations in between, here's my rough itenerary of that portion:

1.) Ideally on the morning of July.2nd we would like to travel from Stuggart (Germany, close to Frankfurt) to Munich. (by rail)

2.) I think either Thursday (July.3rd) morning or early afternoon we would like to travel by rail from Munich to Venice (Italy).

-Thoughts about booking day tour of some sort?

3.) Friday (July.4th) evening we travel from Venice to Florence (rail).

-could we possibly book a day tour in Florence of some sort for July.5th. Thoughts?

* The two nights stay in Florence can be switched to Venice instead.

4.) Leave on the 6th very early Florence to Rome, Italy by rail...

I have sent these details to a travel agent to see if they can assist in anyway (places to stay/eat and things to see (possibility of day tours)?
The time I can spend booking some of this stuff on my own is limited so that is why i reached out to agent, I've also thought of the possibility of just wingin' it but dont know how realistic that is based on my fairly strict timelines...

Maybe we skip one of the previously mentioned locations to visit one place longer...

Anyways, any insight whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

So just looking at Budapest hotels, it looks like we could stay at the best of the best 5 star hotels in the center of Budapest for $160ish a night.

Are most of the bars and nightclubs in the center of town? I just don't want to end up staying in the old town or something and then have to go somewhere else to go out considering that's what we're stopping for.

Unless of course you guys think it'll be dead on a Tuesday night? Then staying in the touristy area might be a good idea.

We'll be in Budapest Jul 15th. We could probably stay an extra night or two should it be worth it. We might die though.

Get to Split on the 10th, Ultra in Split on the 11th, 12th, 13th, one day "rest" in Split, Budapest on the 15th, possibly 16th, then Warsaw 17th, 18th, 19th....

That's the plan as of now.

$160 for a 5 star in Budapest, man, that's awesome. I was going to get a nice hotel for a few nights in Barcelona, but they were over 300 Euro a night. I almost had an aneurysm. Park bench at the beach it is!

If you are looking for nightlife, make sure you stay in Pest and not Buda.

You should grab tickets to the last 2-3 nights of Sziget if you think you'll have the energy. Individual tickets for each like 40 euro or something.

This is true.

We stayed on the Buda side and it was quiet. That being said I found it very very easy to get around. We got rides from locals, the police, and had one lovely young lady go out of her way to take us to a pub that served Guinness. She spoke no english was stayed for a pint.

Do not, go to the zoo, unless you know it has been upgraded.
