What? I thought it was common knowledge about Lake Bone-avista? Why do you think they have an "island" on the "lake". Think about it!

Oh no, look what you've done Sean!

I saw that briefly and don't really know what the issue is? Did he just put a motion forward that is to make the crosswalks rainbow for the Pride parade or something? What's the big deal?

I heard there was a lot of interest in having it just below the Beltline.

I think the big deal is that Sean put forth the motion (and of course the timing). If any other councillor did it, such as GC, Farrell, etc., I don't think there would be much question.

Also Edmonton just did the same thing for one of their crosswalks.

I thought that as well when I saw who was upset about this on twitter. I mean sure Chu has said some bone-headed (and hilarious!) things on twitter or whatever, but that doesn't mean everything he wants to do is ludicrous. I just didn't know if I was missing anything here though. Like why is Mike Morrison having to "defend" this, or why doesn't he want it?

Mike Morrison cheerleads for people he supports and reacts against those who he does not. If Druh Farrell, Evan Wholley, or any other of the usual cast of characters proposed this he would be lauding their wonderful motion put forward in support of the gay community. Also not sure who in large numbers is really against the rainbow crosswalk thing that Morrison has to defend against anyway. It's a good idea, whether put forward by Chu or not.

If so then isn't even more fitting that Chu be the one who puts forward the motion?

I think he's being a bit disingenous if he claims to care about Sun commenters.

I find that Morrison and Chu are kind of each other's antithesis, like Samuel L Jackson to Bruce Willis in 'Unbreakable'.

Looks like Chu is happy that the motion to make secondary suites legal in inner city wards did not pass voting.

Sean Chu @seanchucalgary1h1 hour ago
Now hear this! now hear this! Secondary Suits issue is dead, AGAIN!!!!! on second reading.

Yet he also advocated for a plescibite, where I'd wager it would pass.

Seems as though Sean Chu is blocking everyone on twitter who has anything that even remotely challenges his stance. Basically 1/2 his constituents have been blocked....Including me.

He's definitely an odd ball. For a public figure he sure comes across as tone deaf most of the time.

This is That, an Onion-esque fake news programme on CBC Radio, did a show about charging parking fees for bicycles. Everyone's favourite councilor doesn't realize it's a farce and runs with the idea.
